sounds like a blues song huh?lol well im wondering how much and what can i do to protect my cue? its warm in my house and i was going to a cold place ,last week wen i went to play i didnt take my cue ,i knew for one that the place we were going was going to be cold and here in san antonio texas it gets down to 40 30 28 degrees .should i worry i kno some floor installers reccomend acclamating the wood floor pieces before installing . i wonder if i have to do that ,but i dont think i want to leave my cue overnight somewhere lol
 
I'm in Austin TX, just an hour or so away. I think slow acclamation is best if you're going to some other place that you know will be cold. I wrap my case in a blanket in my car if I know my cue is going from a warm house, to a cold car, and back to a warm pool hall an back. If you know there's going to be a temp change, let you cue have as much time as possible. Also it's not a bad idea to keep your cue in the case for 10 minutes or so before you take it out if where you're playing is hotter/colder than where your cue is stored.
 
thanxz guys ,today if i play ill let my cue rest in the case for 10 min,as far as sealing my shaft where to go for that ?

In San Antonio, Ron Geyer with the Custom Cue Connection or The Billiard Factory off of 281 north.

I worked at the Billiard Factory for a couple of years. Richard or Nate will do a great job for you.
 
They let flooring acclamate to the moisture in the home/area, not the temp. Some houses have more moisture than others, even in the same neighborhood, due to the ground under the house, the way its sealed up etc.... so unless you are going to a room with alot more moisture then there shouldnt be any worries.Now if you are coming into a warm room from an extended period in the cold, then yea I would let the cue warm up a little before hitting with it, but who knows if that really does anything or not.....it may just be a superstition :) :) or just an odd habit :) :)

i love the billiard factory there great guys and very courteuos,whenevr i go i always end up buying stuff ... oh and as far as playing today i didnt ,we had a meeting saturday but my captain went to a "football game" ,and i had allergies ,long story short they had a wildcard draw for playoffs and we were called but since no one was ther were out , oh and my captain is pissed at me and other team members ,i dont kno y i mean hes the cappy and i was out sick, i would of gone but wanted to rest for new years eve
