Edward L. Lee
He was the 1936 World Amateur 3 Cushion Champion. I'm pretty sure there is a cigarette card with his picture on it but I don't have one. Probably Churchmans or Turf.
I do have a poor zerox photo and the story of his victory from a newspaper article. He set 5 world records during his win Best 2 3 4 5 and 6 game innings .990 .960. .921 .883 and .828

It's funny how a pool player can spot another in an instant...even if its just a single photo It's how they stand at the table, how they hold the cue, or how they form a bridge...many little tells to tip us off.

That's one way Gleason contributed to his role in the Hustler...he was a player. Cruise & Newman were clearly not.
