The Action Pool Tour (APT): July 9-10 Diamond Billiards, Midlothian, VA!

My view on playing in your own...

...I just wanted to give my view on playing in your own tournament:

Really??? how obtuse are some people? I really hope the view of one person is not a shared sentiment because whoever it is obviously didnt think it through. If pool fantatics like Ozzy didnt exist we would NOT have tournments like this to goto. Other than pool fantatics, the only other type of person that would be willing to consistently sactifice 3 days of their family life (trust me Friday is a prep day, not a party day) would be entrepreneurs. And let me tell you, not many "entrepreneurs" are beating down the doors to provide us good tournaments to attend. So who of us, having thought it through completeley, could consider condemning Ozzy, as a pool fanatic, for playing in his own tournament...even if there are a few disruptions. Think it through guys, dont give Ozzy anything but your complete gratitude and entry fees because otherwise we will be waiting for the next pool fanatic to build a nice tournament in our area...or worse we will be waiting on someone to figure out how to make some money on this sport and we all know how we feel when a tournament director, heaven forbid, wants to turn some kind of profit...nothing kills a tournament quicker than when word gets out that the director is making money.

Ozzy, if you need help and I'm around, I will help whenever I can, but in the mean time, I will accept any and all distruption you need so you can play.

Thanks!

Rick,

Thanks for the support and understanding! Even though you and I share the same opinion, I do also understand the other perspective. I try to plan everything out as much as possible so that there are very few clitches or interruptions during the weekend. In the last event, a couple of people whom I had never even met, offered to jump right in and lend a hand. I must say that our sport has a great community of people...a community that I am proud to be a part of!

In this next event, I am bringing an extra person just to make sure everything runs even more smoothly. I am committed to making The Action Pool Tour the very best pool tour in the region but that cannot happen without the support of the players. I hope we beat the previous turn-out of 58 and make this event even more successful!!

Live Stream Improvements!

You spoke, we listened! Although we received a lot of positive feedback from our first ever live stream, there were two main criticisms:

1. Auto-focus was on the first day which made the stream a little difficult to view.

2. Match scores could not be displayed on the screen. Viewers had to open the chat window to get score updates.

I am happy to announce that both of those issues have been resolved. The auto focus issue was corrected on day #2 of the first event and from this point forward, match scores will be at the bottom of every APT live stream.

Potential sponsors interested in placing ads during our live stream should contact The Action Pool Tour at admin@actionpooltour.com. Thank you.

Ozzy,
The fact that you have such a kick-assed website and that you post the results and the brackets during the tournament speaks volumes.

And it definitely puts other tours (who shall remain nameless) to shame!

It is also refreshing for a TD to respond to forum members in a timely fashion, or at all.

Could not make it this weekend, plan to be in Salisbury if I don't have to work.

I did check out the finals on the stream...nice work...again.

Wish I could of made it, looked like a great event again! Ozzy has come out of nowhere and set a new standard for new regional events in the area! Cant wait until each event has 100 runners, its going to happen if this keeps up!

WHat he said..all of it.

Great work Ozzy. Impressive.

Look forward to playing in future events. After my life gets back to a "normal" state

Appreciation

Guys, I can't tell you how much your comments mean to me. When I read posts like that, it makes me thankful that I decided to move forward with this tour. However, the real thanks goes out to each and every player that takes time out of his or her busy schedule to come out and play. It is not easy to travel out of town, pay for gas, hotel, and food just for the chance to win what is sometimes a small amount of money. I know what it's like and I have nothing but praise and appreciation to all of you that do it for The Action Pool Tour.

Just remember, with larger fields there will be larger payouts, so encourage everyone that you know to come out and support our efforts. Thanks again for your generous comments.
