The American Billiard Club - video explanation.

Honestly, I'm a liar.

I made a video for Joe Tucker's new american rotation league, the American Billiard Club.

It explains how everything works. It's a really cool idea and if it can work out, it could be a a savior to league pool in America.

Check it out!

Awesome video, Cleary!

I love how the voiceover and graphics explain the simplicity of the Series.

For those of you out there that have heard of American Rotation but were a little confused, watch the video!

I love the playoff format and guaranteed money at Nationals.

Comments:

• The rack shown at the 45-sec. point does not reflect how the balls are actually racked in American Rotation (e.g., the 1-ball goes in the middle rather than a striped ball).

• The payouts shown at about the 1:45 point add up to $58,000, while the voice says the total purse is $70,000. Payments toward expenses?

• The last line of the payout table should be 17th-32nd rather than 16th-32nd.

Otherwise, not bad for a brief overview.

American Billiard Club

Thanks Cleary!

This is just to give a very brief overview of the whole concept. This us quite different than any other program available anywhere else.

An aspiring player can play in their home room for 7 weeks and qualify for a national event. Only 8 players per room and a limited number of rooms.

It is affordable- self supporting and no handicaps.

Please check it out.the contact info is at the end of the 2 minute video.

Very cool infographic video. American Rotation is the real deal - not sure yet if it's the savior of pool but it's clearly a good game.

Good Video.

The ABC sounds like a good format for higher level players.

Excellent excellent work by Cleary. And I agree about not being the savior and that was never really the intent. The intent is to give the industry 1 solid product we can all be proud of; 64 of America's best billiard clubs and 512 of America's best players all united! Once in place we will be in a better place and if someone comes along wanting to offer some kind of savior type idea we will have a strong ranking and feeder system in place to possibly help them succeed.

Had a good accidental conversation at DCC with Gregg and Corey. We were talking about American players and rankings and how tough it is to keep them accurately. Many American players cannot make the bad financial decision to go and compete in as many tournaments as possible to get high rankings and the ones that do get out there are susceptible to the luck of the draw, Corey could draw Dennis O and I could draw the dentist (no offense guys). Yes the cream does rise but bad draws do also and when its $1500 a pop it sucks. When this was said I simply looked down at my flier for the American Billiard Club and said if we had 512 players I don't think too many of them would be foreign players playing 7 matches within 7 weeks and we could have a pretty strong and fair American point list?

All we really want to do right now is provide the players with a sensible way to compete at a high level without asking them to turn the lives upside down or forcing them into bad choices, build a respectable product for the industry and provide a path for aspiring and future players. Doesn't sound like a bad thing to me?

Heyyy... I would consider it an Honor to play someone like you Joe (I mean as an 'aspiring retired dentist' and all...) At a Tunica Match Dennis O failed to even show up for my match with him in banks...lol After I beat Shane VB the first game and almost won the 3rd game (hill hill), I guess 'making an appointment' with the 'Dentist' was kinda scary.... but that was 3 years ago. He did say to me later as we we bangin them around on the 10ft'ers that he "didn't like to play bank pool"...lol Again that was then.

Always trying to be an 'aspiring and future player'... and support our great sport.

edit ... My 3rd match on day 3 (no sleep at 10am) was John Morra... He put on an exhibition 3-0. 1 run out, 2 banks/safe/out, 4banks/2 misses/ out... match was like 8 mins. All and all I got my entertainment value out of this tournament... thank you very much. Immediately after playing Shane, John Brumback happened to just be walking by the table and I called him over to get a refund for that 'Bank Pool' DVD I bought from him a couple of months earlier when he was in Charlotte. I told him that "I could even beat this Shane guy using the stuff that was on the DVD." John asked if I got a chance to even bank a couple of balls during the match and then told him I won the first game. He promptly refused any consideration for a refund.... We all laughed... then I bought Shane a Quizno's sandwich for Lunch.... Twas a good time. Glad to be a stepping stone... btw as with 99.972% of the population, this is not how I make my living.

15 ball, call shot American Rotation is the real deal (as long as I don't draw Efren). It makes 10 ball look like child's play.

To that end I would happily play American Rotation and love to have a path to the national championships that was clear and rational.

I think that if more players played this game they would end up being better players and the constant competition would keep them sharp.

I think you are on the right track Joe. I wish we had had a little time to talk it over while I was at DCC because I am out on the road and would love to promote this for you any way I can. Tell me what you want me to do and I will do it.

I looked at their website and only saw 3 rooms that sponsored it. Maybe their website is not up to date?

LOL I know you guys are out there and as I said, no offense ;) I have had more than my fair share of Dentists as students and I think that's why it popped in my head?
Joe T now fearing the draw of the Dentist.

Yes 1 Ball
$70k because we forgot to add regional payouts which right now is 25% of participants
17 ;) not 16 good eye as usual
Thanks
Rather than break stats we may need average run with BIH after the break?

What is yout route schedule looking like? I didn't know you staying in country. Right now you could simply mention to any room owners or aspiring players you meet that we're trying to unite 64 of America's better billiard clubs, it only takes 8 players to get on board and you think its a good idea for the industry to build this up for itself?
