Well, tax returns are just around the corner and I thought I would resume my search for a nice Sailor of Racine cue.

If anyone has anything for sale or knows someone who saw a guy at a bar talking to his girlfriend about his mate Ted who's selling one, let me know, I'm interested.

You might try PMing AZB member Daniel (Tim). I believe he mentioned coming across a nice Sailor cue recently.

I heard...

I heard they play really good, from an old-timer that was from California I ran into about two years ago in the pool room; I havnt seen him since but he knew a lot of people in the game, we spoke for about an hour about DPK, who he knew on a personal level in the heyday
 
Sailor Cues

Frank Stellman makes, or should I say made a very fine playing cue...

I understand that his son is involved in making sailor cue's now...

I have owned a handfull of them on the used market and the most important thing that I can say is that they all hit very well and played consistently...

Frank would watch a potential buyer on the table and from that he would determine what they needed in a cue, length, weight etc.

occasionally you will find one on ebay... I would try to network through someone Chicago or Wisconsin based that is where they usually come from...

Sailor Cue

I've got a Sailor cue you might be interested in buying. It has 2 original shafts (1 with pool taper and 1 with a billiard taper [but not a short ferrule)] and a curly maple wrap. I originally bought it after talking to Luther Lassiter about his Sailor Cue. It hits very good, but in my dotage I've become a Predator whore. I believe it's 19 oz, but can weigh at the PO if you'd like. If you are interested send me your email address and I'll send you some more pics.

I've got several but don't feel like letting go of them. In fact he's making a Hoppe conversion for me now. I hope to get it in a few weeks. Last time I spoke to him the butt was done, but he needed to make me a couple of shafts.

He told me he's working on another one for John Dementhe (sp?), a student who has a habit of selling his cues when gambling. You might be able to get him to make you a cue. Call him. Afternoons or early evenings are best. You can tell him Dennis gave you his number.

I've met his son, Kelly but don't think that he helps out on the cues. They come around very slowly. I last saw him at the one pocket tournament at Red Shoes about a month ago, the one Nick Varner won.

Thank you, I think I'll do that. Come to think of it, a Titlist would be just about everything I'm looking for in a cue.

Sailor said yesterday that he would be putting a cue made with a Burton Spain blank up on ebay soon.
