If dosnt get better have them double check the sctipt! Had that happen to me one time sloppy handwriting was the corporate. Good luck with new glasses.

I know when I went to progressive lens it caused some problems. There was definitely a learning curve.
If my glasses weren’t level, or if my head was tilted, it was as you said, the balls had moved.
If I’m missing I set up a straight in shot and see happens, and adjust my head position as needed.

There is another important thing about glasses that most threads don't cover::
You want the "eye point" to be on the lens where you are looking straight through while down on the shot. This will be 4-9mm above where the eye point is on lenses designed to be used when your head is straight up. I had to show my optometrist my head position while shooting for her to write the correct prescription.

another thing bill curran does is tweak your proscription so your best focus is 3-12 ft

Oh..the excitement! Age 75 here. Always near sighted, 20-400 or so. Lately added the joy of macular degeneration, glaucoma (one eye only) and cataracts too small for surgery. Retina specialist says I should be happy that I'm around 20-40 in both eyes with glasses.
Oh...and type 2 diabetes that has my vision fluctuating depending on blood sugar level.
I'm due for another injection in my eyeball in 10 days...hope that gives some improvement from now.
I got glasses from Gordon Harrison...they allow me to get down on the shot better, so I'd say worth the $. I'm sure Bill Curran's glasses do as well.
Still, the sharp eyed young guns have nothing to fear from me. Old age & medical issues aren't fun, but I guess they beat the alternative.

I would suggest trying contact lenses. The soft lenses are comfortable and give a big picture of the table. I started with the old hard lenses and after getting used to them, my game went up a ball or more. The soft lenses are so much better now. Your doctor will give you different lenses for free to try. Its worth a shot !

I started back playing a half dozen years ago after 25 years off, right after detached retina surgery, partly because i couldn't do anything else for however many months. Then it took a few years to figure out why i hit the balls so badly. (balls are not where they appear to be) Old skills would carry me along, then lay off a week, and it was like i never hit a ball accurately before in my life.
May have to explore some of the glasses options mentioned here, but one thing that finally dawned on me is that if i play more than twice/wk, my brain adjusts and compensates. If once a week or less, my brain does not automatically compensate and the frustration comes back. this is different from actual "staying in practice". It's what my eye-brain adapts to coordinate to the point it become unconscious, but seems to drop quickly again.
There have been several studies starting with George Stratton, that outfitted test subjects with "upside down" or other goggles that displaced a normal image. After a few days, the subject starts seeing things correctly again. When the goggles are removed, it can take a few days for the subject to see normally again.
Or at least that's my excuse for "can't hit a ball". :wink:
