This is the ONLY book you'll ever need to improve your play and method of play that coincides with your beliefs:

https://www.amazon.com/Science-Pocket-Billiards-Jack-Koehler/dp/0997622717

Study THIS and you'll never have a problem. Stay OUT of CTE threads because they aren't viewed in the same way or manner of play.

Do yourself and us a favor by doing YOUR THING and we'll do OURS. How's that for an idea?!

SpiderMan...that is an absolutely TREMENDOUS IDEA!! I salute you for this insight.
Naturally the members of "the Posse" will not go along with it. Their lives are too dependent on making trouble and acting like bozos toward others.
If only they would...………..:clapping:

The obsession with proving CTE works borders on destructive psychosis.

The "haters" on the other hand are generally normal sane people who are bored so they bully the mentally ill.

CTE people should seek some kind of federally protected status to make it stop.

Special parking spots and the whole nine yards.

It's pretty sad. Yet kind of funny.

Yes, your way and manner is... uh... unique. Wouldn't dream of interrupting this demonstration.

Please carry on.

I think a lot of the people who argue this stuff have spent more time arguing online than they have on the pool table.

ANYBODY who has played more than a year or two and still can't aim, needs to QUIT.

QUIT. GO HOME. SELL YOUR CUES. DO SOMETHING ELSE!

Google says The Science of Pocket Billiards/Originally published
1989.

I'd be willing to bet this book has been your Bible right from the beginning and you still have it as your daily reference.

But hey, if that's what floats your boat so be it.

I'll stay out of the way you play pool and you can keep your nose and mouth out of the way I and many others choose to play.

I can easily do that...can you? (hasn't been that way for over 20 years)

You got a new lease on life with the heart operation. How are you going to move forward from here, or are you still spinning your wheels like always?

Eye...CTE goes beyond aiming. It's the entire PSR and way of playing consistently for almost everything that happens on the pool table in one package. Everything is covered.

Watch some of the Banking videos to get a better picture.

The great thing is there are so many different options all throughout pool instruction that everyone has the freedom of choice to find what's better and works for THEM.

What really pisses me off to no end is some know it all hack who doesn't gamble or play for anything telling me and others who use it that it's garbage and NO ONE should get involved with it as if it's hazardous to the health like smoking or drugs. You know who they are because they do it every day. Yet more and more pros are using it as well as top amateurs. They must be stupid too.

There is normally a group of 5 diehards who do this daily but occasionally a few new recruits like to chime in because they think they are seen as "cool" and all knowing like the main group.

Look how the first post was laid out in this classic thread 6 years ago. No, it wasn't about Stan and CTE...It was about CJ and TOI. Same crap: https://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=349161

I agree, depending on the quality of table time and how many hours a week one spends working on their game.

There still might be a few shots that pop up where throughout 1 or 2 years of playing they just don't occur often enough to develop much consistency for them. But overall, after a year or so of using whatever aiming method you stick with, if you're playing 3 or 4 times a week for several hours, you should be consistent at pocketing the vast majority of shots, particularly the those that come up most often.

Playing once or twice a week, however, with buddies and a few beers, just banging balls around and not taking the game very seriously, maybe except for joining a league to socialize, can lead to a lifetime of never being any better than average. But if you enjoy the game, keep playing.

I'm sure you have a better feel for this than I do since you play in a pool room regularly for league events, but unless a person has a table at home how many new players do you see working on their game or trying to learn how to play at least a couple of days a week or more? Especially younger males and females.

With everybody's nose stuck in their cell phones never to be unglued from morning till night, it seems they're more interested in FB, twitter, games that can be played on their phone or computer, yapping away all day, etc.

If they do something physical and time consuming, what takes the precedence...
exercise (gym, classes, bike, running, etc.), meeting places like bars or clubs, tennis, golf, bowling, maybe even cornhole over pool.

You might have a good participation in pool where you live, but pool rooms aren't a major profit maker comparted to other things for investors. Sure, food and liquor is usually there also but not necessarily.

I wonder if, after all these years, you can describe what I think is the same about them? It should only take a few words.

You already said it..."SAME CRAP". Not my words...yours. Then again since you really are only a legend in your own mind...who cares?

Didn't think so. After all these years you still don't know what you're ranting about.

I know what you wrote that I copied verbatim, SAME CRAP. Actually YOU'VE been the one ranting in multiple forums for 22 years regarding a method you only THINK you know something about.

You could be more specific by doing a video live at the table but we know that's not going to happen. This is where you're at your best...spinning, lying, and wordsmithing. Your favorite game behind the scene and sight unseen.

You are 100% correct. Most or at least a good chunk of league players and weekend bar bangers do not spend much time, if any, trying to learn or improve. So they reach a certain skill level and that's their game. Some of this is because they don't have a table at home. Some because they just really don't have a passion for the game. And some just want to socialize.

Mr. Koehler sells his books on Ebay a little cheaper than on Amazon. He's not only an authority on pool; he has quit a bit of experience in using slingshots. He's authored books on that subject as well. Interesting man I wouldn't mind spending some time around:groucho:

You seem to have forgotten those are the words you wrote. I just rearranged them a little to make a point.

Since the point was apparently lost on you (color me unsurprised), here it is: both CTE and TOI describe themselves unrealistically.

Here's a radical suggestion: try following along with the actual topic now and then rather than whatever preconceived topic you think it is - you might find it calming.
