The Best Break cue or Jump Break cue

The Stealth Jump Cue Is The Best/most Versatile Jump Cue By Far.

As Far As A Break Cue, I'm Different From The Herd..... I Like Heavy With A Stiff Taper And Larger Diameter. For The Mony Schmelke Makes One That Is Awesome.

P.s. A Jump Cue And A Break Cue Should Have Different Style Tips And Tapers, So It Would Be Tough To Get The Best Of Both Out Of One Cue.

Can anyone tell me the best Break cue on the market and the best Jump break cue?

I have had a Predator BK2 cue which was very good, but I may be looking for a Jump Break cue of the same or better quality.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Leon

I purchased a BK2 and its the one for me.

Prior to making the purchase I was able to whack the following:

Sledgehammer
MACE (older model)
Varney
Fury
Mezz
Omen
(and a couple of others)

Both the BK2 and Mezz did an admirable job of spreading the balls. For whatever reason, I did seem to think I was more consistent leaving the cueball in the right spot with the BK2.

HOWEVER, just like golf clubs-certain cues (or golf clubs) seem to work better for different folks.

Too many people like the Sledgehammers and the MACE's and the others not to give them a fair shot.

FWIW---

Jump and Breaks

I love my BK2 and my Predator Air
I had a Murnak case made so it will fit the Air butt in it and I only have to have a 2 X 4

I shoot in the BCA with Rick Howard and I see his cues first hand, solid work, beautiful crafstmanship and they hit a ton.

I totally agree, the Mace is one of the Best No-nonsense Jump Breaks EVER MADE!!!!!!! Ricks taper is pretty unique on his Mace, and this taper is what makes the cues strong, even though they are thin in the Butt!!!

Here, is a little History for those who may be interested: Rick Howard played on the Pro-tour from the 1970's to the 1980's and he was truly a Great Player. Rick decided to make cues in the Mid-1980's, when he built and began marketing the Mace Jump-Break, WHICH WAS THE FIRST true Jump-Break cue made.

Rick also makes some very nice Custom Playing cues, and he is a great person to deal with. Now normally I would not promote any cue on this or any other forum because we all know that everything is subjective to the individual. However, the construction techniques used by Rick and his taper / design are very special and very effective, THIS IS NOT HYPE I do not believe in making blatant statements that are based on Bias, or anything else.

But I speak what I believe to be true, and my reputation clearly shows that, I do not follow the party line good or bad. I come from the old school where if everyone is agreeing and bobbing their heads no one is really thinking.

No disrespect intended!!!!!

You have to respect a guy that speaks his mind regardless of what others say or do

easy choice

the best break only cue....bk2. best jump only cue....predator air. now if you want a break/jump cue...jerico stinger. you can use it as a jump cue with either the long butt portion ,short portion or full lenght and it jumps as easy as anything out there. i gave my opinion as i have tried alot of different cues so i am not just voicing after trying 1 shot with each. right now and for along time to come i use a bk2 and predator jump. (unless another one is invented then i'll try it) lol:D

In terms of breaking, close your eyes, take whatever cue, put a White Diamond tip on it and then you have the best break cue :) in terms of jumping, play 3-cushion billiards, learn diamond system and no need to jump. Efren Reyes never made a jump shot ;)

J/B Cues

I've had quite a few of them and the best one I've had thus far for breaking is the Mace by Rick Howard. The Varney was ok but when I compared the two I had a little more success with the Mace. I had two other people try both cues and they preferred the Mace as well. The best jump cue I've had with out a doubt was a Stinger. I attribute the easy and accurate ability to jump balls to the thick shaft. People with long fingers broke well with the Stinger but for me the Stinger burned my fingers. Tips can also make a big difference in performance of the cues as well. The Varney and the Mace both broke well but for me they were not the best jumpers. Don't get me wrong, they jumped well but not like the Stinger.
