The Best TAR Idea!

I had heard JCIN say recently, can't remember whether it was on one of there tapes i have or in a live broadcast. Anyway that he would like to get 10-20 top pro players get them in a room and play till all money was gone. I have to say this is a great idea and the interest for this kind of format would be heavy. Just think 15 of the top pro players in one room. All have to bring 5k min. To watch those match ups would be awesome. I don't know anyone who wouldn't pay for that stream and or the videos.

I think its a great idea, but only get players that can ALL play even and draw matches out of a hat. This way no one could duck anyone. Johnnyt

My concept was just something along the lines of 10 players and some horses, put them in a room and let them make games for a weekend and just see what happens.

It probably would not be the huge name players but the gamblers...Scooter could be the MC and Scott Smith could be the director. Anything goes from prop bets to coin tossing to arm wrestling...maybe make it a requirement to put $X in action per day or be kicked out. The logistics and details would be impossible but man that would be some fun stuff. Basically a structured and scheduled Derby action room.

When someone steals this I want some jelly :D

great thinking

An excellent concept JCIN. Could this not be done like right after the DCC or some other major event when all the guys are allready there?
If they knew it was going to happen they would make arraingments to
stay longer. I realize you must have other commitments (like your real job)
But I think the PPV for such an event might well exceed your tournament
coverage. Again I applaud you for your efforts at bringing coverage to those of us who cannot attend these great gatherings.
Best Regards,
Dick

as much as I would like to see it happen, I just dont think it will happen too many moving parts, people etc. I'm in if it does happen. i'll bring 100

Tar

15-20 players blind draw 5K each with a rebuy of 7500, or lose your out. winner moves on Races to 25 or 10-15 ahead winner take all. I would buy the PPV or try to make it to see it live.

Here is the idea but someone who loves pool would have to put up the money for the players... 100k to the winner and 5 k for everyone invited...

Top 12 players play a round robin...12 ahead format 10 ball..played on diamond tournament tables with tight pockets and worn in cloth no brand new cloth allowed....players must play at least 12 hours if necessary to finish the match...every player must have 12 hours rest at least before they have to play their next oppenent...the best two records at the end play a 12 ahead for the 100k...

A format like this would take a couple weeks to complete but at the end we would know who is the best player in the world with no doubts........

The players could vote on the top 12 to make sure the right players are in..

My top 12 would be:Orcullo, bustamante, yang , pagulyan, chao, archer,
van boening, deuel, souqet, reyes, alcano and feijen.

My challenge to you Fatboy..They say you are worth millions so put this together if you love pool...If i had millions i would put the money up...lets find out who the best player breathing is for sure...........

You have a good idea but I think it would be unfair to ask 1 person to front this even if he is worth millions. You have the Action Challenge why not have a Invitational Az challenge where we could ask for donations from all Az members.

Justin,

Here is an idea for you to consider. Instead of having many different players, just have 2 camps (the 2 players and their stakehorses) show up at an action room at a certain time. Have a live camera on them and let them negotiate right there on the spot with the live cameras recording at both camps. For the viewers, it is very entertaining to see how the games are made, how the negotiations are done. I personally find it more fun to see the players negotiate than to actually see the games. Have a referee who can induce the negotiations between the camps to facilitate the fairness of the game (similar to an auction guy who induce people to bid). You have to allow the stakehorses to be involved big time with the negotiations. Most people stake because they want to be involved. They want to feel the actions. Now, by allowing them to be seen live on camera, to have a big part in the situation, it is much easier for the games to be made. Put microphones on all the parties involved and show them live. Allow the stakehorses the spot light and you will see many more games made. I believe that as long as the stakehorses are ok with a certain games, then it is most likely that the players will play the games agreed upon by the stakehorses. This doesn't mean that the players are not involved. It just means that give the stakehorses more exposures, more recognitions and you will have more games.

Why not rent a conference room like the one they had for the first action challenges. Undisclosed location with seating for maybe 50 people and room for 2 tables, one barbox, and one 9. Get 8 to 10 players of assorted skill levels and thier backers for the action. Minimum 10k each with 10% or so going to TAR for setup and equipment. Set up a one time PPV fee for the feed, and start the action.

Think of down the road with this idea hitting different parts of the country. Obviously start in areas where 1 on 1 gambling is contract and not against the law
