A delivery driver leaves this cue at the front door and the reciever found it the next day soakeed after 2-3 inches of hard rain.
If you really want to feel some pain just look. It is just a shame to see a work of art like this go to waiste. It is going straight in the sh$t can. You would think a $2500.00 insured package might require a signature.

Like this?

There isn't a scratch on the cue.

The cue was in the cloth pouch Timi shipped it in. That was in a poly tube and that was in the fiber tube. You could have run over it with a forklift and probably not scratched the cue.

I would not sh$t can the cue, but I would do in the driver and make sure it is his last day on the job. Is it not rain or snow or the dead of night, that will stop them from getting there package to you on time and in the same conditions sent?

Nick, I a very sorry you got taken by the postman.... Maybe you can shove that tube up his

Sorry to hear about that but believe it or not the delivery guy isnt at fault. When you ship something of value you of course request insurance and that it be signed for,if you dont request it to be signed for then its left on your door step and the scary part is there are creeps who follow these drivers around looking for an easy score. Will they be refunding the $2500 to you?Is the cue ruined, meaning warped now?

That is not surprising. I've seen them leave all kinds of valuables at my or my brothers door without nobody even knowing. Hell my brother had a package on his porch for days before they noticed it was there. UPS has even dropped their packages off at other houses (including high dollar rings, etc.) without even confirming it was the right address.

No Ups!

UPS should be banned from handling cues as far as I'm concerned. They are blatent offenders of mishandling packages. Their company has gone to s--t. I would rather miss the delivery by the U.S.postal service and drive down to the post office and sign for it. If it's shipped USPS insured and specific signature required, they wont leave it there. I feel for you buddy:(

I have contacted my local post office. When any package that comes in ,is more than 1 foot long , they hold it. They call home and leave a message. Then I can either go down and collect it, or have them then deliver it. I might loose a day , but I don't have things staying out in the cold over a weekend either.

Just a note for any that ship FedEx They S**K !!!!!!
Even if you require a signature FedEx Express has left many packages on my door step ranging in value from 2500.00 to 7k & never got a signature:( They also left the 7k package out in the Rain.
I have had a cue shipped to me By FedEx priority overnight with a required signature .It never came ,they will not honor their Declared value for a claim .
The driver has changed his story to his supervisor three different times.
Now on the other hand I have never had a problem with my regular ground FedEx driver. He even gives my wife extra time to get to the door .

I guess Learning to Read is Not a FedEx Express employee requirement.

I WILL NEVER SHIP FED EX!!!!

US Postal Service is the cheapest and most reliable from what I've found. Just ship it insured with tracking and signature required. I've shipped tons of expensive items through them and never had one single problem. I prefer signature required so they WON'T just leave it at your door, unless you have signed that little slip allocating where they place the package.

The cue will not be sold

I asked the cue to be sent to me so I can remove the trademark from it. The shipper will in all likelyhood send a check soon and request the cue. I will call Timi and see if they will want the cue to be cut to bits. If I am allowed to keep it I will take a band saw to it and make some Christmass ornaments!
I dought that Timi would appreciate one of his cues being butchered to pieces and resold to a unsuspecting buyer. At this point in time the cue is drying out on my pooltable. The shafts now look like snakewood. The butt is no longer straight but amazingly close. They make a hell of a cue for the butt to still be even close to straight because it was returned in the origional wet pouch and box!
The cue is still beautiful.
Mike insists once a cue gets wet like this it is fubar.
Nick :) :(

I usually ship USPS Priority Mail and if I insure an item for $201 or more, it is supposed to be signed for. Many times, the delivery confirmation shows a notice was left, because the person wasn't at home.

I always pay for the little green delivery confirmation sticker, too. A lot of times, I get updates when the item is on the way, not just when it's delivered. I've heard that folks who use the printouts to ship items don't usually get more than a delivery notice. I think the reason is due to the colors on the stickers you use, versus the black and white printouts. I think people naturally respond to the colors they can see across the room and if they're in a nice mood, they'll register an item as having gone through their facility, just because they saw the color on a package that lets them know at a quick glance that the package has tracking on it. So, if an item gets lost on the way, I have a clue how far it made the trip, before it got lost. So, even though it's a bit of a bother to go to the post office to ship, it's worth it to me.

the cue doesn't need to be butchered.more than likely, all it needs is a new handle and new shafts.everything else is sealed.it would be foolish to cut it up with a bandsaw.you could repair and sell it again with full disclosure.

You know more than Timi?

To properly do a handle everything must be recentered and recut to the new center. So depending on how far of everything ends up you will have nothing worth value left when you deal in tolerances that Timi and Mike would accept on their cues.
This is why Timi has never done a handle repair. He makes cues with tolerances that are not forgiving. And If they did the cost of a handle and re cutting and retappering ,refinishing and rewraping and shafts would be way over $1600.00.
And when they were done they would look at the cue and throw it away because it would be way thinner than anything they would allow to be sold with their trademark on it. So it would be a waiste of time and money.
Thanks however for the PM offering to buy the cue. You and others have to know all Timi's cues are constructed using trade sectets and they are not for sale.
Timi and Mike wish the cue to be destroyed for this very reason.
It will not be or is now offered for resale. The shipping company owns the cue. It will be destroyed if I am allowed to keep it because trademark and construction secrets are involved.
Cues like this don't get chopped, wacked and hacked back together then sold only to reflect poorly on the origional maker. Not by me at least.
Nick :)

that is the funniest thing i have ever read.i am not sure what you are talking about, but it is funny.

by the way,i never touched Jerry's cue and Marcus did not want the cue back.Marcus and i never had a problem with Jerry's cue.you should try to get some more information before posting a bunch of lies.

all you had to say is that the cue is not for sale.i just saw you say it was a $2500 cue and that you were either putting it in the garbage can or cutting it up for ornamnets.i saw no reason for that and offered to buy it.then you go into a crazy rave about who knows what and you say it belongs to the shipping company.you should have said in the beginning instead of talking all that bull.

Trade Secrets?

Take Timmy (not Timi) and Mike some crabcake sandwiches and they'll spill their guts. They'll tell you anything you want to know about cuemaking. :)

Lighten up on Mason man......I'm sure you're upset about the cue - but really. You just start insulting people. Sheesh.
