The end of my revo

Yeah, I know... I actually didn't notice that part. But, even so... a Cat, brandishing a Desert Eagle, riding a fire-breathing unicorn, bareback into battle...? It's gotta be timeless. 🤣
Why are you here on a pool forum?

Six-year thread of Revo condemnation, original poster's disputed proof, Revo metal-plug weirdness,

Revo in limbo, and, finally, the resurrection of original poster and Revo vindication.
Lol
I don’t even know how this thread came back up. Lol predator rep emailed me and asked me to ship the shaft back. I did. They gave me another one. I’ve been playing with predator ever since.

I tried viewing poster AuntyDan's pictures but could not find them in September 2024. AuntyDan posted the Facebook link in his post #49 six years ago:
I'm also interested in what the modifications were made to the shaft that have invalidated the warranty. I'd also like to know the approximate distance along the shaft the failure occurred, because someone on Facebook who cut open a broken Revo shaft found there is a metal plug about 15" from the tip. (I assume it is there to both add some weight and balance the mass of shaft although Predator make no mention of it on their website.)

All revo 😂 break and jump cue as well. No issues with any of them.
So even though "I forgot how good a wood shaft felt. I liked how stiff the revo was but really forgot how little feel you get. It turns out it was dead to me and I just forgot how much in the last year of playing with the revo. I was running out and playing position just as good as I have been. Honestly I felt my position especially draw was easier simpley because I was getting more feed back from the shaft."

You still went back to the Revo? Is there a reason that you could share? If you shot just as well with wood , but prefer the feel and feedback of wood, why go back to the black shaft?

Yeah that was an initial reaction then after a few weeks of play i realized that I liked the revo better. Who knows why. everyone is different. Play with what you like.

The pad under the tip is critical. I found out the hard way.
Yup.. that’s what predator said. I had a friend who does tips put one on. He didn’t put a pad back on it. I don’t blame him . I was the first carbon fiber shaft he had seen. Few people in my area even had one at this point they were super hard to come by. when I posted on here about what happened I got an email from a predator rep who asked if I would send it back. I did and about a week later he emailed me and said it is my fault that the pad was crucial but they replaced the shaft anyway

Here is the thread with my showing the pics and what happened Since we are bringing up old posts lol

2018 photos of metal screw in Revo shaft about 15" from tip????? Above-quoted poster AuntyDan probably was referring to cue maker Tim Monk's photos. See first photo of the indentation left from screw that may have been placed there during manufacture for balance and weight in shaft. Find Monk's photos on Facebook's Billiards Info/Discussion Group. They may be available there at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1531228417160207/search/?q=revo shaft . One figure below is from Predator of its Revo shaft.

My rough estimate shows the Revo-shaft screw more like 23 inches from cue tip and not the 15 inches posted in 2018 (presuming this was a 29" shaft). The screw and the unthreaded (?) portion of the screw were about 2.5" wide. The screw appears to have started about 3.5 inches from the Revo-shaft joint end.
