Don't play straightpool Mikko, you know Niels Feijen has dominated it for the past three years....

I've heard Hohmann plays an amazing game of straight pool. Is Feijen even stronger in than Thorsten in that game?

Niels Feijen have won the EPC straightpool for the last 3 years!!

He played the finals against:

2004 Thomas Engert (ger)
2003 Tom Storm (swe)
2002 Stephan Cohen (fra)

You can look at all the winners on the website under the Hall of Fame section

There's so little 14.1 in the states. Is there any video of straight tournaments in Europe, either European Pool Chmpionships or any other straight matches?

Dennis

Sorry, we get our video's from the states...

But straightpool is very borring to watch for two hours. Because simple shots are made over and over (if you play it correctly).

But Mikko would have some tapes......

I sent Mikko some tapes and am sending him some more.

I like watching boring straight pool played right.

I was wondering if they filmed any European matches. Someone sent me a Feijen/Storm(? I think), straight match from a few years ago. I can only watch it on my computer so far and the commentary is not in English. I also have a video of Hsia practicing straight running quite a few racks, similar format.

Berry, I think they videotaped the straight pool tournament matches when there was an 8 player tournament in Weert a year or two ago ? Can you dig up something ? I have seen an ad about those tapes... Maybe HOB Weert knows more...

Will talk to Maurice Houben who runs the pool hall in Weert and see if he got the mentioned tapes. So far I haven't seen any of them. If I want to watch borring straightpool :D I play with (read; against) Niels Feijen or Alex Lely.

@ Ted Harris. There will be a mini trade show. we have about ten booths available. If you are intrested please send me an e-mail and we will work it out.

Mikko:

He sent me a pm a few months ago that he would send me a tape of some straight, but it must have slipped his mind. If you could get it to me, I'd appreciate it. Some others in the states have been looking for European 14.1 video, too.

George Fels signed your book. Once you find out what you are playing in, let me know. I've told some locals here about you and we will follow your exploits.

I won a match Monday where the other guy missed the game ball and I ran 22 and out. Very good for me whose high run is in the low 30s. Dennis

Hello all,

Yes Dennis you are right i still promised you those tapes, and eventually they will come.
I have a few matches taped with high runs, from that side straight pool event two years ago.... but i have a laizy uncle  who has to put the Cameratape on a DVD, and that is why it is taking so long....

Sorry doing my best.

Running out the set is always nice, especially if it happens to be a longer run. I remember, one of my best runs in 14.1 tournament was running 63-out in a race to 75. The situation before my run was 58-12 :D

Cool, I've read George's articles in BD and I think he has the right approach to the game and many interesting subjects and stories. Very nice from you getting him to sign my book. Well, now I know I'll be playing just 8-ball and straight pool in EC, I wanted to be reasonable and let the more seasoned players play all 3 events. Well, then there is the team event in which I automatically play in of course...

I'll try to arrange some way to write reports during the tournament in AzB. Maybe borrow a laptop for the trip or something.

Cool, you get to play 14.1. I wonder if it'll be filmed. Hopefully, your stuff will go out this week. Dennis

I try to find a digital camera to film some matches. Some of my matches and some of the truly good players as well :)

You're stuff is still waiting for some matches, my friend has some of them and haven't got them back. But, should be soon...

The first country's have filled in their list of players and they are online!! When you go to the "meet the players" section you can check out who is selected. More country's will follow!!

To have more information about the players the website has no got the Players profile. At this moment they are empty but they will be updated.
For players who are selected and read this, you can send me an e-mail with the information and I will make sure it comes online.

Regards,

Berry

Not trying to put any pressure on you, but entire AZB and Matchroomsport forums will carefully monitor your results. And we hope you kick some butt there...:)

Nice site Berry. I particulary like statistics section of the players, their high runs...etc. Too bad nobody has revealed any information yet.
