Is Jesse gonna accept Corey Deuel's offer to play him on a barbox? Jesse is known as the king of the barbox, but if won't play someone like Corey, how can he keep that title?

Really, I don't remember David Matlock ever being dethroned from the title. And I believe David has played Cory on a barbox, hasn't he?

I thought Dave was the king originally, but a while back a bunch of posters on either this board or CCB corrected me and said that Jesse Bowman is the king. I don't know if Dave and Corey played, but a year or two ago there was some buzz about Dave playing a lesser known (I don't remember his name) but very strong player for a large sum on a barbox.

I recall watching a very young Stevie Wonder match up in nine ball against Ray Martin in the late 1970's. He could stick with Ray in any game but 14.1.

I also remember watching Stevie at the 1995 World Eight Ball championships, and I'd have to say that he's definitely the fastest eight ball player I've ever seen at pro level.

By the way, I have the one pocket tape with Stevie wonder vs Buddy Hall. It has always been one of my favorite Accu-Stat tapes.

Thanks Emptypocket and SJM...Steve Wonder, after watching, was explained to me as one of the best local guys in the area (not too shabby for the Philly area), but I had no idea he was a top flight pro. Sure he kicked butt in the US open qualifier, completely outclassing his opponent in the finals. But I learned something about him from you guys. Thanks.

Dave still wants to play, he just doesn't want it splattered all over the internet.

i will always vote for dick lane as the slowest. even if he is not actually the slowest, the way he does things makes it seem as though he is.

I think that Rodney Morris is a very fast player too, as fast as Tony Drago.
I saw a match between them at World Pool League 2004 very spectacular!

Rodney plays fast and is definitely one of the faster players today, but he doesn't quite shoot at the same pace as Drago or Salvas who IMO are the two fastest players currently.

Basavich is the slowest player today by a landslide, I made the mistake of trying to watch his matches in person before and just could not believe how slow he plays.

I second that ...

I believe he is the slowest I ever saw in person (and I have seen Basavich play in person). It was way worse than going to the dentist .... lol I saw him take between 4-5 minutes shooting an almost straight in ball on the foot end rail, and go 1 rail for shape on the next day.

I am sure HIS BOOK will be - The hundred other thoughts I have while shooting a shot.

These slow players must be DEFYING common sense - ya think?

Two Fastest today: Luc Salvas and Ga Young Kim
Two Slowest today: Jeremy Jones and Danny Basavich

Two Fastest Ever: Steve "Stevie Wonder" Dobrowolski and Luc Salvas
Two Slowest ever: Greg Fix and Dick Lane

Those are also my picks

I know he's probably not the slowest player but Charlie Williams drives me crazy when I watch him. He'll get down over a shot and stroke for quite a while and you're sure he's going to shoot and then he gets up and walks around the table. He seems to do that an awful lot. I've seen a lot of pro players get down and then get back up but they usually do it fairly quickly. Charlie really makes you believe he's going to shoot and then gets up. I think that would really drive his opponents crazy.

I have to agree. I couldn't imagine being that nervous playing pool.

lmao i thought he was never gonna shoot!

also, why doesn't jeremy jones wear a glove? he seems to be so slow cus of putting powder on his hands all the time, and i've heard his hands sweat a bit too much thats why. you'd think a glove would be the perfect solution...

Besides Luc Salvas, another Canadian, Alain Boutain, or Frenchy, shoots really fast!

F**k me. He's got a real problem. I think his knicker elastic is caught in his braces or something. Either that or he was taught by a praying mantis. He never quite makes it to the table surface for that second shot does he? I wonder if his name is Bob.

I expect he's got one of those obsessive compulsive things going on. 5 minute toilet break every session plus 47 minutes to wash his hands. And I suppose that's why he bought his cue a good 6" too long. He probably likes to wear them down himself with the chalk.
