The first pool AI

Looks like you are not the first.

There was no conversion from a photo and the photo was not augmented by computer vision.

That demonstration is not in the same class as the high tech math techniques I know.

Its ok if I am not the first.

Where is the pic? If you cant afford to gamble with me stop wasting my time.

But unlike you he actually developed a working system.

Maybe you should consult with him, because the rest of us here, don't care what your lying dupa proposes.

Keep ducking and dodging.
You are now regurgitating what others have cast your way. Unfortunately for you and hilarious to readers, it isn't an appropriate use of the phrase. You are the one who has sucked and dodged multiple gambles.

Your assimilation into the xharrinuttyx s hool of thought is progressing, sadly for you and hilarious to readers.

Oh I missed this you want to gamble? 9 ball or 10 ball which is it?

Just be sure you work on your chair exercises, you will be sitting for a while. Also be sure you wrap your cue with clean underwear, don't need you stinking up the joint, literally.

Getting dirty.

Being in routine is not for Mellinals.🫠

Of all the garbage takes ever, this is the garbagest.

How do you even breathe without assistance? Your ageism and stupidity is bottomless

First you subtract the x from the x and the y from the y coordinates to normalize them.

You then figure out the yaw, pitch and roll of the landscape view and the translation transformation then place them into a 4x4 rotation matrix then multiply that by a projection matrix and invert it. Then multiply the landscape view ball coordinates by the inverted matrix and the results should be the ideal view coordinates.

So you want to invert this matrix: Rotation(yaw, pitch, roll, translation) * Projection

To find the pitch you pick two corner squares on the table, preferably the close and far ones on the right. Then normalize the coordinates of the found corners through subtraction. The first goal is to remove the pitch from the table because after this is solved for the yaw and roll will be trivial to solve for. So you find the distance in both terms of x and y (but not the magnitude) of parallel diagonal from each of the two chosen corners. The goal is to find a rotational pitch transformation with yaw and roll set as zero where this distance will be equal. So you have this system:

Distance1*rotation_transformation(pitch)=Distance2

Then you solve for pitch.

Now that pitch is solved you do something similar to find yaw and roll.

The last thing to solve for is the translation. You can figure that out.

At this point you have the system:

Landscape_coordinates * Inverted_Matrix = Ideal Coordinates

So you want to perform this matrix multiplication to find the ideal coordinates.

To construct the projection matrix want to use parameters that you extract from the camera information on the cell phone

Obviously it is more complex than a single linear function.
My head just exploded. Now I have to go re-evaluate my life. Thanks

You mommie must be so proud of you.

I've often heard that all the top math minds spend most of their time teaching basic math to culinary arts majors.

Quick now...how many teaspoons in a tablespoon. I have two onions and use one in my sauce...how many onions do I have left.

Computer vision??? Is that like ColecoVision we had in the 70's

What wager ( money...not your fantasy first date) have you ever offered that someone here has turned down?

I think there is a group of players that would swim through a river of shit to play him. Myself included.

Aren't you concerned about his high tech math and tube sock grip?

He just has to count to 10. He should have enough fingers for that.

As I already said, just as long as he washes his laundry that he puts on his cue, I'm ok. Don't need him to stink up the place. (literally)

Comments like this make me very proud of being one in 4 grad students. Of the four I am the only active professor, today.

What else dont I understand?
The linear equation only works in a single dimension. That is an appropriate line of reasoning, keep going.
Hence the linear equation you proposed using is 100% worthless.

I doubt you are a professor either, and if you are its in some liberal arts junk science....

You have novel ideas but have demonstrated zero understanding of technical concepts at even an undergrad level.

High tech math techniques? You proposed using a single linear equation for 3d -> 2d mapping. Even high school students can tell you that will not work....

And what you are proposing is hardly high tech. In fact after thinking about it some more I've determined you have even less of a clue than I previously thought.

The solution is to just have the ideal view of the pool table and superimpose it over the picture from the camera. Then, by hand, you rotate it and slide it around so it fits over the table. Totally simple. No solving required, and the rotation angles and translations are known because the user created them so there is none of the nonsense you were proposing before which required solving them.

If you had any programming skills, which you obviously don't, you could program this 'high tech program' in a day or two.

The funny thing about this is you don't even seem to be able to comprehend how to do the computer vision part, which is the easy part....

ie: you are proposing an AI program and you haven't even mentioned the AI....

I must say this is typical for developers of your level, whom, for example, think a system of equations which you could solve by hand instantly on a TI-84 calculator won't fit in a smartphone's memory........ (and you claim to be teaching students....)

I think he really is a college math teacaher and that would be the ONLY thing he's challnged on that he MIGHT bet on. I doubt he would bet a lock

I also think somebody once told him he was smart and he thinks that is somehow unique and valuable. Problems with that though...'smart' is only such in relation to dumb, and there are plenty of homeless people out there that are 'smart'.

Then you have the most irritating aspect of his him: he comes to a pool forum to flaunt his supergeniosity, ignorant to the fact that he insults accomplished people of all sorts...from his mom's basement.

He's the epitome of that joke: how about you clean your room before solving all the world's problems?

That's a very charitable interpretation. Are you feeling ok?
