i thought i would take a breath, and stop bashing the ipt, and count the good that has come of it thus far, hmmm, let's see, the good, the good, oh yeah

#1-women and men are playing together, now that was a good thing, it answered questions, can they hang with the men, i for one thought they could, it turns out they can't, i was wrong, although if it was 9-ball, it might have been closer,do ya think? or am i wrong again?

#2-good dress code, i like the fact pool players look presentable, it makes them seem like it's a sport, and not a pastime.

#3-they picked me, hey, i'm not that great, but yet i could play pretty damn good 8-ball, but this proves, i'm not IPT material, hey, neither is 85% of the players,if you know what i mean,i mean you got reyes, manalo, shaw, and about 15 others, the rest, well, what can i say, good luck?

#4-the IPT chalk is the best chalk ever, it should be the world standard.

#5-the memorys of meeting all different walks of life, and enjoying myself as some sort of semi-nothingness celebrity,it was quite nice sitting in the hotel lounge in nevada, smoking my robusto cigars, and feeling "big" quite nice, completly false, sense of who i really am, hey i'm the first to admit it, i'm a great sales person from new york , who got on through enthusiasm and non stop e-mailing the ipt, however the fact is i got on, enjoyed myself, and basked in my 15 mins. of obscure fame.

#6-the green room, oh that green room, man, what a room! food filled with ~~~~ham, turkey, cheese, cole slaw, pickels, soda, real linen napkins, internet access, large plasmas of the matches live beyond the curtain to the green room, large black leather easy boy lounge chairs, complete with a person to massage you!

#7-the most efficiant mathmatical team in the billiard world. man o man tons of ipt staff people with months of math stuff and round robin stuff that made my head hurt, incredible boards,of who plays who and why, i mean if your into statistics, the ipt is your bag!

#8-classy bags, mugs and shirts for free were given out every tournament including hand stitched embroidedery with your name on it, quite classy.

#9-HOPE big huge hope was brought to pool players from all around the world that the IPT would make them rich and famous, i still have hope that this may happen.

#10-paying out to last place, hey that's something new, true we still haven't got paid for reno, but we will, and when we do, getting 5 grand for losing, is a good thing.

#11-tv exposure, the IPT exposed pool a lot, and i hope the masses tune in.

#12-8-ball, good move showing the game that all pool players already play.

#13-well, that's it, the only thing i would change, is having Bernie Friend in the commentater booth,he is funny, insightful, has an even voice, and knows his stuff, ok, hope you enjoyed this bit of sunshine, let the comments fly!

How dare you!

What is with this positive attitude. There is no room for it here whatsoever! Just because you've invested your time and money into this venture, you think it gives you a right to be positive?

You gotta lot of nerve!

;)

Finally a post from you that was worth reading... except # 13 :D

I cant agree more with everything else you said Bernie. (well maybe except the 85 percent thing)

I was thinking about this the other day. Something positive that I think the IPT has done is bring some of the top foreign players over here to compete in US events.

Orcollo and Stalev are two names that come to mind immediately. We all know that Stalev will come over for a couple major events during the year but he seems to be sticking around in between IPT events now. He recently won a Blaze tour stop and the big invitational event in NY.

The influx of UK players is also a good thing. Darren Appleton definitely opened some eyes with his play at the US Open.

Of course, this positive could be very short lived if the tour moves to Asia.

Mike

For me, seeing my Uk 8 Ball heros (Darren Appleton, Carl Morris, Rob McKenna etc) play against my 9 Ball heros (Efren, Busty etc), with a snooker legend (Ronnie O Sullivan) and a snooker bad boy (Quinten Hahn) thrown in for good measure has made the IPT great.

It's a shame the behind the scenes stuff has ruined things

Y'know just when you say something decent you always have to ruin it with something stupid. Why can't you just quit while you're ahead? If you know your "stuff" then I must be a rocket scientist.

everything is relative

Everything is relative. If you have heard some of KT's commentary you should know that Bernie would appear to be a shining star alongside him.

The IPT has provided us some hope and entertainment. It may even be still alive, too soon to say one way or another. Far from a hobby, I am beginning to suspect that KT has all of his eggs in the IPT basket. If he can sell it to Ho including debt assumption folks may get paid and even have a few more matches held in the US.

Of course if and when the checks arrive all of the gloom and doom will be forgotten until the next set of late checks.

I like the fact that the IPT has once and for all settled the question of who is the best in the sport!

I totally agree with the positive fact that the IPT has brought foreign players to the U.S to compete as well as the men and women playing against each other. But, there are 2 negatives for every positive unfortunatley. The main negative being that this little episode of KTs will, once again, probably cast even a bigger shadow on the sport of pool making even harder to get a good sponsor(s) for a "Pro Tour" up and going. Kinda makes you respect the tourney directors like Mike Janis and Tommy Kennedy that have had independent tours for so long and have built them up to help keep the players making some $$$$.

have you ever spoken to Bernie?

Everything is definitely relative. If you have ever spoken to Bernie in person, you should know that KT can give Bernie "the last three wild" when it comes to commentary!
Poolfool and I have been at the pool hall when Bernie would come around babbling about some nonsense. I believe the last discussion was about Bernie vehemently stating that Allison F could beat Efren Reyes and most of the top male pros. Just my .02!

Rob

I disagree with everything except that Bernie is a pretty damn good eight ball player!

Yeah, I remember this "conversation". I'm not saying that Allison Fisher can't beat Efren Reyes on any given day, but if I recall, Bernie said that she should be able to win on a consistant level and that she should be the favorite to win. Now anyone beating Efren consistantly? I find that hard to believe. But nevertheless Bernie was being extremely "vehement" about it... to put it nicely.

As for this quote, I can't believe you think that Bernie would be a shooting star alongside anyone. First Bernie praises the IPT for being so diverse and open minded. Then he bashes it claiming that no one other than world class players have a chance to win it. Then he praises it for giving him a chance to compete. Then after that he bashes it again about being late on checks. Then he renegs saying its in the mail. OOps again when he says he misinterpreted Deno. Now he's praising it again... c'mon now! Need I say more?

guys, I was commenting on KT

Guys I was commenting on KT. He is so annoying that if I am bored enough to be watching a rerun I turn the sound off. Turning the sound off and listening to some decent music is actually the best way to watch the IPT in my opinion. There might at least be some humor in listening to someone else. KT's commentary is just painful.

I understand what you're trying to say and I didn't mean to attack you perosnally. But if you knew Bernie personally like I do, I would still say listening to Bernie is even more painful than anything KT would ever say.

one thing is for sure, with me you either love me or hate me,and i'm fine with that,to me that means i left my mark somehow. anyway, i was saying that allison fisher at her best, which was 1998-1999 could have hung with reyes quite well in 9-ball, not in any other cue form, meaning,he would have killed her in 8-ball etc. etc, that's all i'm saying, in 98 and 99, she was a freakin god, male or female, i'm afraid to say her best days are 7 years gone.

It's a shame the time for this epic contest has past.

In a long match( race to 200) you would have lost all you wagered if you thought AF could win more than 40% of the games.

HOPE you all get paid!!!:)
