The GSBT rolled into Hickory, NC - Randolph's Billiards. Amongst the crowd contending for the TARHEEL OPEN II title are SD, Larry Nevel, Johnathan Hennessee, Tony Watson, Sparky Ferrell, & Jeff Abernathy. Matches started at 3:30 and are still rolling.

Early matchups:
Johnathan Hennessee vs. Larry Nevel dbl. hill Hennessee prevailing.

Brian has been playing good. Should be a good match-up b/w him and Sparky.

The Pendley boys aren't here - they had something else going on.
 
Great to see Anthony Arney's name. He's Frank Tullis's buddy. An absolute great guy...plays right well too.:)

2pm-we are about to start back up. We had a great time last night and NO I did not sing... although Shannon did. It was fun and we had a few laughs.

There was some action in the room last night. Sparky and Tony played a couple of sets. Sparky won both sets. There is talk of more action here tonight- we'll see. Updates later on.....:)

Somebody has to go.. I hope it's T-:p No JK- he has been playing pretty sporty here lately. He was the winner of the Greenville event 2 weeks ago and played great all weekend.

Sparky had a good tournament this weekend finishing 5/6. He only let one of his opponents get to 5 on the scoreboard everyone else only got to 1 until he met up w/ Tony. Congrats to Sparky- he seems to be playing well also.

Matches are in progress. Will update semis/finals in a few.
 
You know I am pulling for SD and Jon to finish 1-2. Glad to see they are both playing well. Looks like Larry had a tough go of it taking losses to both Henny and Shannon.:cool: ;)

Seems like Josh is playing really well lately. I have seen his name at the top of the charts the last couple of events IIRC.

I'll be waiting to hear how the matches turn out.

The hot seat match was an intense match. Josh was up on Henn 7-4. He made the 9 on the snap 2 games in a row- Henn battled back to win take the match 9-7.

Then Tony Watson and Josh Roberts battled on the one-loss side. The match went back and forth before Tony cut Josh's tournament life short w/ a 7-5 win.

The FINALS!!!!!

2 races to 9- true double elimination- Little "T" from Hickory must beat Hennessee from Tennessee 2 sets to claim The Tarheel Open II title. Let the games begin!!!:D

The winner of The Tarheel Open II is Johnathan Hennessee. The final score of the match was 9-3. It was a great tourney here in Hickory, NC. Randy and Becky Kanipe are always pleasant to be around. We always enjoy ourselves. The food was great and we always enjoy having tourneys here @ Randolph's Billiards. The winner of the Nick Varner cue raffle was Jeff Murrah- the owner of Karl's Korner in Columbia, SC. Also, Chrisi Causey from Gastonia, NC was the top lady finisher winning a $50 prize. Congratulations to both of them!!!

Our next stop will be next weekend @ Breakers in Rock Hill, SC. Same time-same tourney- come see us!! Check out the thread in the tournament announcements section here on AZ or check out myspace for all of our tourney stops/pics.

Tell him I said congratulations. I like to see Jon do well even though it strokes his ego beyond belief.:D

There is probably already plans to put the $ in action. Am I right?
