We kicked off the event in Greenville at Sportys Sports Bar with a stellar field of 64 of the best players in the Southeast. Amoung the participants are Earl Strickland, Monica Webb, Nick Varner, Jeff Abernathy, Paul Song, Stan and Landon Shuffett, Scott Rabon, Stevie Moore, Sarah Rousey, Tony Watson, Bill Bailey, Jason Klatt, Larry Nevel, Gabe Owen, Helena Thornfeldt and many other top players.

Round one is underway with one notable upset already recorded. Monica Webb tripped up Earl Strickland 9-5. We will be back later on with first round results and second round matchups.

Marge wrote in the other thread located in the Tournament Forum that Shannon is sick, though doing a little bit better this weekend. He's got the chicken pox.

I wish I could be there to see Nick Varner against Landon Shuffett. That's going to be a very cool match, the old guard versus the new kid on the block! :)

Sorry to hear Shannon is sick.I have had a bug for two weeks.The tournament was 1 hour away from me last weekend and I didn't even get to go!!!:mad: :(

That would be awesome to see Nick and Landon play. I have seen Landon play a few times. He is a good kid. I have had the opportunity to sit and talk with Stan at the US OPEN and also a couple of places since then. Both are good people!!
 
Yea Nick and Landon will be cool Jam, I watched Landon eak out a safety battle last night hill hill over Jumping Sammy Jones. I left before Landon played his dad and also missed Scott Raburn beating Stevie 9 to 0 whats up with that? Leonard

Landon beat his dad 9-2 last night. He said he was ready to play Nick. The score is now 6-0. Landon has missed a few balls and leaves Nick an easy run.

Scott Rabon played a flawless set last night against Stevie. He is a great player and a pleasure to be around. He is battling against Josh Roberts right now. Both players from Columbia, SC and are still in the hunt.
