The great white of sharks!

Oh, that S.O.B.! WTF! I would forfeit the match and beat the living crap out of him for humiliating and sharking me during a final match. What a freaken Cocksucker! I can't believe my eyes. I'm pretty P.O. by that

WHAT!? Heartless. Like he doesn't have it bad already with bankruptcy, you're gonna do it as he's trying to make his living???

That is a terrible human being.

Earned you a warning.

I know, I tend to do that sometimes, lol. I just disagree with the guy doing that when he knows that it is important to have his concentration during a snooker match.

Really?

Yeah, really. Watch your language duder. I hope you can figure out now why you got the warning.

Now that you said that, I got it. Tone down the language and the violence. I apologize to all fellow AZB members for the post, I just felt strongly about the situation, but the language and violent behavior emphasized was unnecessary. Hope I didn't offend anyone. Sorry and thank you for understanding.

Its not my place to say it, but it seemed like an honest mistake :)

It's all good chinO, I bet you weren't the only one that felt that way.

I couldn't believe this one!!! Nothing could compare to this during a live broadcast at the start of the match. The king of all sharks...

My cue would be talking to his knees after the match!

That was in very poor taste, BUT we do not know the whole story. There must have been reasons why he was served those papers in that fashion, I can only imagine.

Many years ago I worked for the court system and a part of my job was as a "process server".

I once had to serve a summons in an paternity case on a professional boxer and after many attempts to contact the defendant (boxer) it became apparent that he was "dodging" service. I explained the situation to the attorneys and the attorneys paid for tickets to the defendants next boxing match.

I was prepared to complete service much the same as was shown in the video, BUT I chose make it less embarrassing if I could. I arrived early and waited at the locker room entrance for the defendant where he finally cooperated and completed the service there quietly in a much less public fashion.

He thanked me and his trainers thanked me for the way that I handled the situation, because they knew that I would have climbed up into the ring to serve him if necessary.

My point is that it is very possible that it was the actions of defendant that lead to this unfortunate public service.

Since the match hadn't started yet, I'd be interested to know what happened to the betting line after the incident. It would be especially interesting to know if one of the parties to the lawsuit got any late action in against him just before the writ was served.

We discussed this on the uk 8 ball site back in February when it happened.

In a nutshell the guy is Mark Selby's former manager George Bamby and he was wearing a hat and dark glasses as a disguise so that Mark didn't know what was coming. He alleges that Selby has owed him about 14k Sterling out of tournament winnings for a very long time. He alleges that he repeatedly tried every other available normal method to get paid by Selby but could not even get a response to letters or calls let alone the money. He claims his lawyers therefore then advised him to serve the writ at Selby's "place of work".

On the other hand George Bamby apparently has a somewhat chequered past himself in money matters mainly surrounding pool tournaments he was involved in staging (What!? Surely not pool?! Surprise! Surprise! lol). Michaela Tabb's husband Ross McInnes is only one of several promoters and others who allege Bamby ripped them off and still owes them money. If Ross says that I personally would take it as being true.

By the way, for those who may not already know, Mark Selby is an exceptional exponent of uk style 8 ball pool and has been world champion at that discipline in the past. I believe he still occasionally plays pool for his home county league team. He hasn't yet turned his hand to tournaments on the larger pool tables but who knows what the future might hold at some stage.

I'm with the "give him a slap" team re the claimants disgraceful timing of the writ service

To the best of my memory nothing significant happened in the betting market on that match and I was following it at the time as I like a punt. Must admit that at the time it didn't even cross my mind to back against Selby purely because of that incident.

As a general comment, snooker is being watched very carefully at present by the betting firms in Uk due to recent cases of widespread sudden "correct score" match betting, all of it on the same correct score selection, most of the suspicious bets struck by brand new account holders, closely followed by blatant fixing of the match score on frames by the two players in the match concerned....duuh
