The Greatest 10 Ball Run Ever! Parica vs. Archer

As for the shot on the four, I would not have liked to shoot to such a small zone, especially with a big side pocket right there.

T,
I actually recall that he was trying to just stay short of being snookered (accepting the cut on the 5) and went too far. I do not believe he was trying to get to the rail. He had a good 2 foot zone of acceptable position on the 5, and just overshot an inch or two. At least that's how I recall it now.

Maybe, a touch of inside and cross the table twice, might have been better. Hind sight is 20/20 though.

Tracy,
I'm sure all the straight pool old-schoolers here would shoot that with a "slow roll", and enjoy their perfect, low-risk position on the 5.

OMG! The shots on the three and the five ball were simply outrageous!

Has anyone considered that this format, with proper editing, may be just the ticket for pool on TV? The public never gets to really see the raw offensive skills of the top male players (particularly with ESPN's alternate break format), and ring ten-ball really showcases that aspect of the game and may provide the flash and dash that would excite a general audience. Combine that with the poker-type situations of pots and being all-in, and you may have a winner!

Allen Hopkins obviously shares your sentiments. His brainchildren, The Skins Challenge and Texas Hold 'Em Billiards, follow a ring-game-based set of rules and have both appeared on ESPN.

I tried to watch this however at 2 mins 55 secs it just ****ing stopped on me? Then I read replies about the 5 ball. I only got to watch up to him snookering himself on the 5. What the hell ? I'm so pissed, I gotta see how he gets out of that!

I think he was shooting the 5 into/off of the 10 ball, just as he planed. Nice shot. IMO, the more impressive was the 3 ball shot breaking out the 4.

Rick

I had to watch the shot about 10 times, even to figure out that the 5 ball carommed off the cue ball into the corner pocket.

I believe that it was impossible to bank the 5 into the 10 ball, and Jose knew it.

IMHO, it was not a 2 way shot. Jose was simply trying to make the 5 ball just as I stated. And of course, this was simply a great great shot.

Im glad you guys enjoyed the video,i was blown away by the shots in this match,i have seen some very nice outs by alot of players but this one certainly shows why these guys are top notch killers.I think that 10 ball has a big future in the game and is certainly a better and more skillful gambling game then 9 ball too,it just suprises me how little its played in pool rooms, makes fora good ring game.:D

Excellent idea. That would really work at least for us pool players.
