The Holy Grail?

Gusto

Hey Chris,

I couldn't agree more. Practice is crucial, but you also need to know what to practice. As Albert Eintein once said - "If all you have is a hammer, then everything looks like a nail."

BTW, I see you are trying to get your post count up to 200. Who are you going to challenge? I say go for the gusto and just challenge Jimmy M. He loves to play one pocket too :D.

Not sure who, but this is just in case the challenge mode hits me. It seems like all the challenges are in Phoenix area. Thats ok I don't mind driving a bit.
Another 1 down, another 1 bites the dust! heh heh:wink:

...practice, practice, practice, the right things the right way.

This is so easy, thanks!

um.....which are the right things?

uh...which ways are the right ones?
Very good question. Maybe we can get some master instructors to chime in?

There's good practice and bad practice. If you're practicing something that doesn't work...than it's a waste and you would have not gain anything from that experience other than getting good at the bad practice that may have limited your game. It's all about cutting the learning curve. Agree that you need to learn from your experience...but it's smarter to learn from other failure.

Scaramouche just spoke for me.

Practice should be short and quick with a trackable goal in mind. The Mother Drills address several different areas of your game, when put together, your game appears.......SPF=randyg

Randy is EXACTLY right! You attain a goal faster by measuring your progress along the way there. And it has already been proven in various tests by scientific experts that you learn about 30% faster when you consciously think about what you are doing.

There is no magic pill. There is a holy grail, however. If there's info that puts your cue at the perfect position on every shot, that's as close as you'll ever get.

I'm a 3rd degree Reiki practioner. I run energy into my cue before I start playing for the evening. One evening before I broke, I said to my girl, "watch this", I picked up the cue ball and ran energy into it for half a minute. I got an 8 off the break. Was it the energy, I doubt it, purely coincidental, but it makes a good story.

Can Reiki heal a crooked stroke? :D
