???? I might be mistaken, but I don't think there are any Koreans left in the field, and prolly not more than 2 in the entire tournament.

Perhaps you are thinking Taiwanese?

Never make the mistake of calling a Chinese/Taiwanese person a Korean, or vice versa. I don't think they would like it much.

No surprise. Many consider JL Chang to be the world's best rotation pool player. Baby Ko is a magnificent player, too. Both are 5-0 and both are guaranteed 5th place or better.

Truth be told, America's Mosconi team would be a huge underdog to a Team Taiwan consisting of JL Chang, Big Ko, Baby Ko, YL Chang and Kevin Cheng.

Many feel that a team of Taiwan's best would be the equal of any team the Philippines could put together. Wouldn't that be one hell of a match?

Taiwan produces fantastic pool players!

They are sponsored by Government, what could possibly go wrong, they are national Heroe!!

Yes, that's a big part of the story. They come from an environment in which pool players can thrive.

Still gotta put in the work. our players could thrive too, but Shane is the only one putting in the work. I don't think most of our players have the work ethic.

Don't you think you're painting with a pretty wide brush here? I'd love to see some tangible evidence to back up your position.

Didn’t they do that just a few weeks ago? Philippines won with a team that included Efren and without Orcullo, and it was held in Taiwan’s home turf. Pretty surprising. I’d love to see a rematch.

I'll still bet on an all star team from the Philippines against any other country or continent for that matter. Give me Dennis, Carlo, Lee Vann, Roberto and Francisco (with five more heavyweights waiting in the wings) and you can bring any five you want to play against them. They play their absolute best pool when they're teamed together. Team USA could well take a lesson from them.

Are they offering a lesson?

They've been giving lessons all across this country for the last twenty years! Just take a look at the list of winners (and top finishers) of our domestic events during the last two years. It's pretty much either Shane or any one of the Filipino champions.

The Taiwanese players are hardly sponsored by the government. There are some incentives when they win world titles, but not much other than that. Why do you think Wu Chia Ching plays for China now?

hi

KO brothers are big talents and dedicated professionals!

I miss older USA players such as Strickland, Corey Deuel, Archer... they could keep up with anyone... these new guys only SVB is real top player.
