interesting thread....

I had this same conversation with my doctor once after he gave me the "dead fish" He said MOST Doctors and folks that use their hands for very delicate work will give you the "dead fish" or the opposite shake hoping you don't give them the "king kong" finger crush.

I'm a Plumber and I have rough hard core hands. I do take that into consideration when shaking hands.

WTF.....we could all just courtsie when we meet?

Actually we should begin the practice of presenting our cue in front of us then do a martial arts bow and say.."dummo airiassho"!:p

I'd rather be foosing it!

Funny, I thought only women complained about wet fish hand shakes.

I keep a bottle of purrell to shower in after shaking anyone's hand.

Pool players probably shake hands with others more than most people, and I think your handshake tells a lot about your character...

When I tell someone "good luck" and shake their hand, I'm looking for a firm grasp to show respect to one another. If the person gives me the "limp fish", I feel mildly disgusted, and I want to win even more.

I don't like the people who try to squeeze your hand off, either. It seems like they're trying to intimidate you with their physical strength, instead of their game.

I'm just looking for something in the middle...I don't want to feel like I'm shaking hands with a dead person, but I don't want to be subjected to the macho man, "I'm tougher than you" shake either.

What do you guys think?

I agree 1,000 percent...in all facets of life, not just pool competition.
