The little boy that cried wolf!

How long do we listen to someone rant and rave in here before we totally ignore them? What I mean is how long do we listen to someone that won't take advice? I mean he even said he won't take advice unless it is from a pro or an instructor, but even then he doesn't take advice.

Instead he would rather make excuses as to why he won't take the advice. So how long do we listen to him, and continue to try and help him?

How long do we bang our head up against the wall before we realize it hurts like hell?

How long does he cry wolf before everyone quits listening to him all togther?

From my experience everyone in here truely tries to help everyone else in here. No one in here is trying to give bad advice, and no one in here wishes bad advice to be given. In fact most people in here will go out of their way to back up their advice with proof.

I will admit that I have posted some controversial stuff in here, but even then most people just told me their opinion and even told me why they believed that.

Now I know that we all won't agree 100% of the time, but at least we all know when to agree to disagree.

What I don't understand is why this one particular individual still gets all this attention when everyone knows he won't listen anyway!

I mean one of his excuses for not looking at DVD's his instructor gave him was that they were too long!

Anyone that wants to get better will absorb this stuff like a sponge and actually try to apply it in order to decide if it works for them or not.

I just wonder how long we will listen to him before we all put him on the ignore list! I am sure you all know who I am talking about.

Oh by the way! I just wanted to thank everyone in here for all their advice! It has been much appreciated and I only wish I could repay each and everyone of you. Thanks for helping us amatures to get better at this sport, and thanks for keeping it alive for future generations as well.

I put him on today. I've had enough. He doesn't want to work on the lessons he's had and wants quick fixes. Enough is enough.

txplshrk...Huh? Hmmm...the dvd's were two hours long...and there were two of them (one he got for FREE). Do you think the poster you're talking about ever watches a movie? Not many movies are less than two hours long. Even if you could not 'absorb' two hours worth of information at a time (and that's a distinct possibility with most anyone), you could CHOOSE to watch 30 minutes at a time, and practice what you saw in that 1/2 hour. Like many others have posted, I believe this person is just looking for the 'magic bullet'...and it just doesn't exist. The best instructor/pro player on the planet can't help you, if you won't help yourself! Nuff said...

So there really is an "ignore" option?

Where is it and how does it work...it just leaves out every one of a particular posters posts? Seems like that would be confusing while scrollng through a thread.

If she is really hot than it could be all day and I'll even rant with her.

The cute girls ranting just get annoying.

If she is ok than I probably didn't hear half the stuff she said.

Click on the poster's ID on the left. Click on View Public Profile. On that page, you'll find Add User to Your Ignore List in upper right.

I wonder why the moderators don't say anything to him... He doesn't need to quit posting, but just post those stupid questions once a month or so.... Or keep them all in one thread...

Ah, whatever, he's been on my ignorelist since yesterday, and I like it :D

EDIT: He has created more than 550 threads during his time on AZB, of his 1500 posts, most of them "bad rolls"-threads. that's about 5 times as much threads started as other posters here...

Mine too as of just now. He joined a very select group of two. I'm pretty tolerant I think but enough is enough

Thank goodness I'm too new here to know whom the clown in question is, but it sounds like fun.... ;)

?????????

Are they talking about WALLY "CORNTOOTH" CHEWIE ?

So, the today I shot a hard shot into the side a million miles an hour. The cue ball bounced back and fourth between the head rail and the foot rail about a half a dozen times and then finally hooked me behind another ball. It was a really good shot though! I'm just so sick of getting bad rolls!!!

...what?

...whats that? what did you say?

...something about playing for a "leave" and considering the entire shot, including the consequences?

...Yea?

...No, no, no, that's too hard

...No seriously, I'm getting a lot better, I just have really really bad luck...

I'm pretty sure that this post (coming from a very well established instructor who not long ago spent an afternoon with the targeted AZB member) speaks volumes....

I ignored him, but found out it didn't block his threads, only his posts. So I'd click on his threads (without noticing the OP) and find out that I couldn't read the first post. That was more annoying than his posts, so I unignored him.:)

Scott Lee

I believe that Scott Lee speaks the truth, and I for one value a lot of Scott Lee's input on here.

I also value a lot of other people's input on here. So much to the point that I have been trying to make sure the rack is perfectly on the foot spot whenever possible! (Some of you will catch that! LOL)

Anyway, I just couldn't believe how many people still talk to him when he doesn't listen.

I myself even made the mistake of trying to help him a couple times, but he didn't want to hear what was being said.

The one that turned me off totally was the pool table lights!

My god, everyone in here told him why you should go with a light that covers the whole table, but it was too inconvenent to have to remove a pool light when he moves out of that house! I mean it takes like 10 minutes to change out a light fixture and this was going to be too much trouble? If you are serious about playing and serious about getting better then you are going to want the proper lighting on your pool table.

Like I said how long do they cry wolf before people just quit listening?

Again, I want to thank everyone for all the help they have given me over the last year or so in here. It has been valuable information that I charish and hope to continue to recieve by being a member on here.

:D
