Here's a clip from a great player, that hits balls as much as SVB, and it directly applies to the game of pool.
"“If you lose distance, which area of the game can you still improve?”
“Everyone is different, but I think most people can still improve their technique, the swing, their putting, their bunker play, their chipping.
That has nothing to do with age.
You don’t need strength or flexibility to be a better putter or chipper or bunker player or any of that, so you can improve in that area.
Technique you can improve on.
Has nothing to do with age.”
I've found at my age, hitting those long straight in shots using allot of swing speed, draw or follow, I often rattle the hole.
His thinking and mine also/Technique is to NOT take the shot, instead be defensive, or reshape the board or?
Another perspective is, when you know it's going to be a possible ''rattler'' play shape for a good cue ball safe or lock up some balls or/Or??
Bernhard makes some great points on describing what he does to overcome his age factor.
Nice perspective from one of the old GOATS of the PGA.
