The Magician - Efren

I've seen that several times. Lined it up on my home table; shot it about 50 times; never got once !

After spending over 2 hours attempting this shot and failing completely I have come to the conclusion that Efren merely shot the cue ball into a teleportation portal.

Magician - pshaw! The man has obviously planted some device in the cue ball that he controls with his brain waves. But I love him anyway.

played Roberto Gomez one time on a diamond and he pushed out to that shot. i didnt think he could even hit the ball when i saw where he pushed to.

After I first saw that video a month ago I went around and tried that shot on a few dozen different tables. On some tables that shot is pretty easy, on other tables it's impossible. It's hard to see what english he's using, but I have had the most success with a bit of top. That way you can aim it so the CB clears the opposing horn easier and the top curves it back towards the corner ever so slightly. Interestingly enough the more of the inside of the pocket face you can see, the easier the shot is, to an extent.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and I give 15-ball rotation a ton of credit for molding the Filipinos into the great, creative players they are. People get hooked in 9-ball and think they are in jail, but there is no jail in 9-ball compared to the supermax lockdown you can experience in rotation, and it forces players to consider more creative solutions. Efren has probably played that titty-kick more times than most of us have played a simple jump-bank - a shot that would be considered pretty creative by 9-ball standards. IMO, the best place a young, aspiring player could possibly find him/herself is in the PI playing these guys their own game.
