The Meucci

I remember when that 'Crossing the Delaware' brochure hit the poolhall. We all were asking "What the fk is deflection?" Bob was first guy i know of to use deflect. as a measuring/marketing deal. Those old cues played grat. First good cue i had i bought from Buddy at Fat Randy's 'Boulder Billiards' in Tulsa. Buddy was pimping Meucci's at the time and i got a Rifleman BH-1 for around 50bux. In case you're wondering i sold it when i upgraded to DanJanes(RIP) 4pt'r. That JOSS in 1980 with 2shafts was 160bux.

1980 a friend of mine bought a Szamboti for $360,I told him he was nuts and who the hell is Szamboti?

Yep, even back in the 80's Meucci's delivered a lot for the money. I also remember the minimized ball deflection marketing and how my crummy stroke was still able to generate better draw compared to other cues I used at the time.
Mid 80's I had a Schon cue that played just fine in one of my dumbest moves I sold it and bought a Meucci.
The Meucci moved the cue ball with much less effort then the Schon.
And this was the time frame I played my best pool, strong short stop speed.
Sadly the Meucci warped and sort of fell apart within 6 months and I always took good care of my cues.
That was my first and last Meucci.

My Muecci did warp after I started breaking hard with it. However, it managed to straighten itself out after a few years of sitting in a closet stored horizontally. Now my wife uses that cue whenever we go to our local pool hall.

Oddly enough I've never had any issues with my Meucci cue until the beauty ring on the extra shaft cracked and broke no warping or anything of that sort .
The customer service from Meucci when I sent it in was sadly less than stellar .

If I were to start using it again and had problems I believe I'd send it elsewhere for the repairs .

Thank you Lou for bringing back a bunch of memories from the Garden City Open or the State 9 ball tournament I played in it once as well in the mid 80's

I never personally met Mike " Chewy " or played against him but have Lance and Jerry , Frank McGown and I were good friends as well .
Many colourful characters back in those days !

No kidding?!

I played Frank in a 14.1 exhibition up in Montana.
