Mike, this is some way to leave us hanging.....where did you hear this, and who will post it? And what does "See you next Friday" mean? Payment or another delay?

I expected it to be online by now. I heard it said that the deal with Ho was delayed and another announcement would be made Friday.

Well, everyone that's ever dodged a bill collector knows that if you can make it to Friday, you don't have to deal with it again until the following week....

I think Mike was joking.

I don't know if anyone posted this before but this is from the Q & A section on the IPT website. Please read & ease your minds (yeah right)

The International Pool Tour has a guaranteed prize fund (not based on the number of players or entry fees) of over $5 million per year. If you take all the pool organizations in the world combined it probably doesn't equal $5 million in guaranteed prize money! All these other tours base prize money on entry fees with a measly $5,000, $10,000, or $25,000 added. This prize money is a joke. The biggest tournament in pool in the world had a first prize of $75,000. All IPT tournaments will have a first prize of a minimum of $200,000! For the first time in the history of pool a player will be able to earn $1 million a year in prize money! Remember, this prize money is not based on entry fees. So the first major difference between the IPT and every other pool organization in the world is we have more prize money than virtually all the others combined. There is no comparison, and there is no one who can compete with our guaranteed prize money!

The IPT, unlike any other organization, is well financed. We have the backing of tens of millions of dollars to ensure that our tournaments will be world-class in every respect. All IPT events will be at a level of professionalism that has never before been seen in the world of pool and billiards.

In summary, the difference between the IPT and every other pool organization is very simply that the game is different, the conditions are different, the rules are different, the money is dramatically different, the production values of the tournaments are different, and the television exposure is different.

And the payoff is WAY different. In fact, non existent at the moment.

I have read kt's official announcemnet, and of course, it is to me, very much expected. I was a little surprised that he didnt bite the bullet and put this horse down today. he will drag it out a little longer, in an effort to show how much work and time he has put into trying to finalize the ho deal, but in the end we will have to read his apology about how the deal couldnt be consumated.

There were terrible warning signs along the way for anyone who cared to look at it objectively. The cancellation of london was a supreme indicator that the ipt was underfunded and i'm surprised that so many people and players couldnt grasp the grim reality.

Ultimately, the absolute sign was when mark trainor stopped paying his monthly stipends to his stable of players. I am so angry about his dealings. He had no trouble taking the money from their vegas winnings, and one short month later, he unilaterally decides the ipt is "non-performing" and chooses to discontinue temporarily, his obligations. I have been trying to contact Marlon, but while he is in the phillipines i am unable to reach him. I am going to offer my help to him in recouping his losses to trainor. If anyone speaks to him before i do, please tell him to call randy.

In the meantime, kt will try to steal as much money as he can from qualifying hopefuls, until his back is so far up against the wall, he is forced to pull the plug.

KT has until friday, to convince ME that the players will be paid by the end of the month, or Friday aftenoon I am going to the press. I know some guys at fox news who if called on for a favor, might help get this story out.

Friday, kt, got it? You better seek me out, in private, with written guarantees, or else I'm going to unleash a sh!t storm of info to the press. I'm done playin', *****.

Sounds like KT will soon come down with a case of AuH2O poisoning.

I think AuH2O should take that energy and direct it positively back into pool. The IPT is blackballing itself. I think that the people that have the brains, the desire, and the resources to build a NEW tour that will last (Jay, Blackjack, Randy, SJM, Eydie, Mike Janis) should join forces and just do it. Nothing is stopping you guys except for yourselves. If you build it, they will come. Integrity is more important than glitz right now. I hope the players are realizing that.
