The mystery of the color of billiard balls

Why is it that the 1 ball is yellow, 2 ball is blue, 3 ball is red and so-on? I mean for example why couldn't the 1 ball be red?

What makes you think it "cant"?

And how do you know your blue is the same as mine?

This could all be a dream.

1-3 and 9-11 are primary colors

4-6 and 12-14 are secondary colors (mix of two primaries)

7 and 15 are a tertiary color (mix of primary + secondary)

8 and cue ball are "none" and "all"

Yellow is the easiest color to see so for nine ball and ten ball it's ideal to look at when aiming for the break. School buses are yellow for this reason.

I dunno but it's pretty clever. Every 8 balls the colors repeat, with 8 being exactly in the middle. You can rack them beginning with the one in front, skipping a space then the two, and so-on and when you get to the stripes the colors begin to lay in order with the nine beside the one, ten beside the two, and so-on. I don't know who did it or why but there's symmetry to the colors & numbers.

I'm old guy thick today...I'm not getting how you are racking when the one is in front- then skip a space...huh?

Why isn't the stripe white instead of the color?

Why are there only 15 object balls?

This is most likely the most useless, unimportant, and uninformative thread I have ever seen. Kthxbye.

Quoting the most useless, unimportant, and uninformative reply this thread has ever seen.
