The O.T.L.B Slate Dolly

I worked with Pat O'Donnel this past Monday. We set-up a re-furbished GC3. We spec them from the ground up. Anyway, John Palmer was on site and gave a demonstration of his new slate dolly. This thing is hard to believe, John has really done his homework. I wish I had pictures to show. This dolly is small and ergonomic. The slate are easy to load and unbelievably easy to move. The slates ride in such a balanced position a teenage boy could probably take 9 footers down the stairs. The dolly attaches to the slate! No more trying to hold the dolly still and manhandling the slate. Set-up is fast and safe. Safe for the mechanic, slate, floors and stairs. I put in my order, the dolly CAN'T GET HERE FAST ENOUGH! No pressure John! I just ordered on Friday. This is one of the neatest, most ingenious tools I have seen produced for our industry. As I wrote that last sentence I realized it probably has many possible uses for drywall, carpentry and so on. If you get the chance to talk to John check it out. I will post pic's of my dolly when it arrives, if John give me permission.

The question is...will it work going across grass or gravel around to the back of someone's house to install the slates in a daylight basement?

Glenn,
That dolly might go anywhere! It has quick change tires and adjustable handles. John has really done his homework and tested this dolly. Glenn I know that you and John don't see eye to eye. If you tried this dolly you might have one shipped to an anonymous location and then sneak it to your truck. Just playing. I wouldn't endorse any old product. I'm nobody anyway, but I am impressed.

I really like reading RKC's posts and I enjoy OTLB's posts - I learn something each time even though it underlines that I really don't know Jack s$*#.

Glen and John for the benefit of all here I wish you could 'Bury the Hatchet' ( and not in each other:D).

Perhaps you could adopt the philosophy that if you cannot say anyting nice about each other's psts - dont say anything at all:smile:

Glen - I hope to meet you on your travels someday and John the next time I drive to Nova Scotia I plan on seeing you at your store and go and visit the Samuel Clements table you maintain

Ok I'll try. Here are a few pics to answer Glens question

I am definitely a tool guy but space on my truck is a premium which is why my old slate dolly never makes the trip. This compact little unit looks like it works great and will save my back!. Look forward to receiving mine before Bob or Pat!LOL. Thanks John!

Presently there are 15 items that can be purchased under the OTLVISE product line

Many attachments, so there is no set price per package as many people will be buying more than the bare bones per say.

For example: This handtruck attachment uses 2 specialty items from the product line and 1 2 x 10, this allows me to move all in, in one shot. Trying never to carry my tools or bending over for them. It saves alot of time, You have a light, small vac, power strip, your charger etc.... its easy to make and you can do it yourself.

and remember the wheels and handle pop off and then you move the slate with it. Come back to your vehicle and pop off the tool bags and roll cart in van or take it apart or whatever

John,

Looks good...I'm pre paid and waiting. Bob and Pat told me it's the "NUTS"
I like the fact it takes up half the room in my truck, and moves frames to...WOW.

Where's the stair climber?

I could have used the slate dolly this past weekend when I moved. Is there a youtube video showing the dolly being used?
