Might be his brother? I saw his son the other day, he was devouring fries from his happy meal and playing what looked to be the Happy Gilmore style of pool where you hit balls like you would hockey pucks, with the side of a house cue.

Really nice wooden joint though, I wonder how it plays compared to ivory or SS. Someone buy this and tell me! :D

who is matt? Eric's son?

it's his brother.....

As far as the wood joint goes, it softens the hit just a hair. I think the wood joint plays better than the standard phenolic on erics cue, because his taper is so stiff, that the wood joint softens it a touch, to add some "feel"

what, you don't think the kid can eat happy meals, and build cues.......lol

SO you're saying Matt builds a better hitting cue than the 'O-mighty Sugartree?

$1150.00 Are you kidding me???

AZ Billiards is a strange world....1100.00 for a guy's brother! Whatever!

I am related to the guy from Lynard Skynard...any one wanna buy my band??

How did Eric ever tach Matt the incredible Science of building a cue? Seems to be so difficult..

Really

I wonder how many people would have said that about Barry Szamboti? "Buy a cue from Gus's son for $XXXX.... are you crazy" Granted I don't believe he made cues when he was working side by side with his dad. But, he learned from "The" master as far as I am concerned and I would have picked up a cue from Barry back then if it was priced at the same level as his Dad's cues.

Fastnloose, good luck with your sell. Very nice cue

Firstly, Very cool avatar!!

Secondly,
AZ people slay me!! LOL

Szamboti was a houshold name if you were into pool.

People outside of AZ don't even know who Sugartree is!

Just adding some positive spin to the thread after your comments. Start another thread and I am sure you can attract an audience.

Thanks about the avatar comment... brings a smile to my face everytime I see it.

Come on Gwen...If you feel this is a worthy topic to discuss...start a thread in the main forum please...Marcus is trying to do business, and didn't ask for anybodies opinion..It shows very poor form to question a sellers price publicly..If you feel the price is to high just make an offer...

really? You've got to be kidding. Meucci is a household cue name, not szamboti. Neither is sugartree, but that's not my point.

again, really? How does that explain the fact that i had more requests at the sbe for sugartrees' than i did for anything else?

How many custom cues do you sell a year? How many cue buyers do you speak with, outside of one or two local poolhalls? Hank nguyen is a cuemaker near me, in the few locals rooms, he's a "household name" you ever heard of him?

This cue was most likely built 90-95% by eric, but the fact that it's the only one signed by matt, to me, makes it special. If you don't agree, than so be it.

But why come into a for sale thread and make a post in the manner that you did?

so you're saying matt builds a better hitting cue than the 'o-mighty sugartree?

depends on the player using the cue. Most sugartree cues are very stiff, some people don't like that. This cue is a little "softer" than the other sugartrees that i've hit with.

What's up with the..... 'o-mighty sugartree..... Comment? Do you have something against eric, or his cues?

I'm curious as to why you would make comments like these in my for sale thread, considering we've never had any prior interaction.

if the conversation draws views to the thread, i'll take em.

I'm waiting to see why opinions were posted here though.

I'm sure a response is coming, however I seem to remember Gwen's up having issue with, and posting her criticism of, Eric for critiquing and not supplying a cue for FrtG Okies cuemaker build. I suspect her issue is with Eric and not you.

than it should be taken up with eric, not in my thread.

As a cuemaker with a wait as long as erics', i wouldn't have participated in the build either.

I'm sure many many many others wouldn't of either. Cuemakers have bills to pay, just like everybody else.

Yup...This is a for sale thread......not a bash Marcus thread for putting a price on a Special cue. I think 1150.00 is a fair price for something of this calibre. I have no idea how much Eric had to do with building this cue ( I am sure quite a bit) but that is just my opinion. I think a somewhat softer hit would be good, it would give this cue some distinction.

Yea, Gwen for some unknown reason has a beef with Eric..dont know what it is, dont really care, that is between him and Eric. But I feel that statements like that are uncalled for on someones for sale thread. If you have a problem....start a thread.. I am sure there will be some very colorful responses.

Oh, and Marcus....I put one of the Wizard tips on one of my cues.....I almost SHAT my drawers...I love how they play....Thanks!

It's a fair price. Anybody that doesn't think so should keep their trap shut or contact the seller privately. That's az forum ethics 101, first lesson.

Bump to the top for a super nice cue..at a great price.....and a good guy to deal with!
