The Original Merry Widow

Just pulled this out of the safe to see how it plays. Was very surprised for a cue over 90 years old. Solid hit just like a good one piece cue. The handle is a little larger around than most modern day cues. From what I understand a true Merry Widow is one piece of wood for the butt end of the cue. If it is, then this cue is remarkably straight for its age.

Bump for the daytime crowd:

Posted late last night out west. Most of you were asleep except David in Budapest.

Haha :) yes it was "Today, 07:44 AM" as it says in your post to me. I have actually seen it but first saw the Cochran and left this gem for this evening.

I think this is remarkable, I like the idea of one piece of wood used for the butt and the shaft is special too, Gus referred to his this kind of shaft as the 'Magic Wand' if I recall correctly.
I have seen some of Eric Crisp's cues that had butts made of one piece of birds-eye for example... I would like to own one of those but it's always fun to see where today's cues come from.

Pls do share others from you collection if you have the time, these two were really nice!

You bet your arse it's one piece, and Brazilian rosewood, too. It's a fantasic cue you have there.
