I have been planning this cue for a long time..about 5 years. This simple hoppe design has been my dream cue, and I have been planning it over and over again all this time. In February, I finally decided to make my dream a reality, my present to myself for graduating college this May. Every spec of this cue has been carefully planned and designed, and the result is IMO the prefect hoppe cue. Special thanks to Jerry -R-, who was very easy to work with and accurate on his build time.

Specs are:

7/8" steel joint collar and 3/8" black phenolic trim rings (same specs as an old Hoppe Pro), compression fit pilot
Stainless Steel 5/16x14 center drilled pin
Old growth straight grain hard maple forearm
White w/green spec linen wrap
Ebony points w/ 4 veneers (white, light blue, burgundy, black)
4" ebony butt sleeve
1/4" ivory hoppe ring with 1/4" black buttcap, no bumper
19.5 oz
19.5" balance point
4.2oz, 13mm old growth shaft with 11/16" ivory ferrule, triangle tip

She hits as sweet as she looks. Stiff and solid with a nice "ping".

Great Cue

Classic look and specs. I saw a cue like this on AZ about a month ago and just had to have it. Almost identical in every way. Bet it plays great.
 
Wow... It just doesn't get any more classic than that!

Congrats on a great looking (and I'm sure PLAYING) cue!
 
That is one fantastic cue.

Jerry builds the bomb, thats for sure !!

Have many great times with your new cue - nothing better than having your dream cue become a reality :wink:
 
My Jerry and John Bender

I just received my cue from Jerry and I couldnt be happier. These two cues are not fancy but they are my bar payers. The Bender has a sweet hit and I will be playing the cue Jerry made me in a week. I have HIGH hopes for it. Enjoy Jerrys work I love the way his Butt Points are not flat at the bottom.

Perfect Hoppe

You had Jerry build you a sweet cue there. There is a real beauty in perfect simplicity, not that Jerry would say these are simple to build. Like you I found Jerry to be a pleasure to work with and his delivery date was right on, in my case early, when have you had that happen!! His points are not short either, you have a classic beauty there enjoy it, mine is number 16 may I ask what number you recieved. I have not gotten to play with mine yet, but I will be home in a week and you can bet that it will get a good work out.
 
Awesome cue you got there...love the veneers.

Jerry is a pleasure to work with and makes some terrific cues. Now get it out in the sunlight and take some better pictures!!

Perfect Hoppe

Just beautiful. I like your taste. In fact here is a Hoppe style cue someone is making for me. Look familiar? Hope mine turns out as nice as yours. Congrats
