The perfector?

As someone mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, I believe the product is just cleverly marketed PET sleeving. I have 20 feet of what I feel would be the right size in my garage, and would be happy to send someone 4" or so to compare. If the world is looking for these, and the supply is short, my garage may be a goldmine!

What would be the right size?

Upon review of this thread I have decided to make a cue out of a slide hammer.
Just make sure it doesn't have a phenolic tip on it, ok.

One would be far better off just maintaining your shaft.
Smooth Stroke is powder in a cotton bag like a rosin bag.
Pantene for frizzy hair replaces the overly expensive bottle of Cue Silk.

Alcohol swabs can do a quick clean on your shaft. Inexpensive and you can keep a handful in your case.

If you are going to try the braided line, I think they might act like the Chinese Finger Cuffs and may bind on you. You'd have to find the exact size
or it wouldn't feel right. I'd be hesitant to allow a piece of rough plastic to
be constantly rubbed back and forth on my shaft. In time it will cause more harm than good.

An old fella that used to play at our room, who has passed on now had one that his daughter knitted for him.

It worked real slick and if anything, that would be the way to go.
Just ask Grandma to knit you one from finer wool or cotton like they use for a doily.

I did have a local friend try to make some and I can't remember the material chosen but it was not good. Those sample photos in joeys post look promising though.

Works for me

I have never seen that product before but what I do is simply snip off the fingers of my used gloves and use them. Cut the finger off, cut the tip off, slide it over your cue and you are in business. The fit may not be as tight but it still works great on my break cue.
Simple solution for a simple mind.:)

There is a product used in the aircraft industry called snakeskin. It's a woven nylon expandable tubing that comes in different sizes on a roll. Looks similar to the pics above and probably available from aircraft / homebuilder supply sites like Wicks or Aircraft Spruce and speciality co. I wonder if sleeves would be legal to use in tournaments / leagues etc. Would it classify as an aid like a bridge or extension or would it be outlawed. The only problem with snakeskin is it unravels easily. To prevent this we fold the ends in a couple of inches.

I just got me some of them Predator shaft sleeves and cut them to size, works great.
