The Roar heard 'round the world.

In addition to asking for 6 million pesos, Alex Pagulayan asking for a maximum imprisonment of six years for both Makabenta and Fajardo.

How much is 6 million pesos in American dollars? Just curious!

Asking for prison sentences? Holy jailbirds! :shocked2: :shocked2: :shocked2: :shocked2:

Wow

From the article:
"On top of it, Pagulayan is asking for a maximum imprisonment of six years for both Makabenta and Fajardo."

I can't believe that Alex neglected to ask that they be castrated also! I have read a little of this from Edwin's postings and such and have to root for the players against the folks that want to manipulate the sport.

Alex Pagulayan has a pretty loud roar. :thud:

FTR, I don't believe I would take being called a liar, a sharker and a sore loser too lightly either.

Hmmn... I'm scheduled to play him August 2nd in Toronto - I'll ask him about this if I get the chance...

There system must be a bit different where civil and criminal proceedings are kinda "mixed".

Wow! I'm just thinking about all the money i've missed out on! :idea2: Why did'nt i think of this ? I've been called far worse then a shark ( just ask my ex-wife ) ...

All jokes aside, i think alex is doing the right thing because it's a matter of principal . fortunately, alex's reputation has'nt suffered any irreversible damage because of these things .

Good thing that you mentioned that. I think he is going to lose in that part of the case because he has to prove that his reputation has been tarnished.

As for the removal from some tournament he could win that part.

that only means one thing, that Alex is really pissed on a massive level. no person would hope for someone to be jailed, if he wasn't hurt or maltreated badly.

True, there are no separate proceedings for civil and criminal cases pertaining to the same "fact".

I think that the reported withdrawal of the sponsorship is evidence that his reputation has been tarnished although I don't claim to be an esquire.

moral defamation doesn't need a proof of tarnished reputation inorder to be valid. a simple written publication that would negatively affect a person's good reputation either by making him appear as a liar or fabricate stories or falsely accuse a person can be presented as a libel charge. any vocal statement is considered as a slander charge. both fall under defamation and both had been committed by Fajardo and his associates on file.

it is not a burden of tarnished reputation but a burden of evidence of libel and slander. that is why one must be extremely careful of saying bad things about a person thru media. it can be used against you in the court of law. so if I were you, I'll exercise my right to remain silent.

did I mention that I have a degree in pre-law?

Didn't the media publish press-releases from BSCP stating that he was cheating?

Maybe his reputation isn't hurt in the poolworld, but what about potensial sponsors and fans? They can only know about Alex through media...

His reputation was definitely hurt by the press releases from "the rat"
