I just love how FatBoy let's it be known that he had donated some $$ to TAR and the initial reaction isn't "yes! someone is putting some money into pool", it's more like jealousy.
The point of this thread was obviously to encourage people to start supporting TAR, and you guys turned it into an attack on FatBoy.

I UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE SHOULDN'T GO AROUND BOASTING ABOUT THEIR CHARITY, but this isn't one of those times where it is bad to do it. FatBoy is a high-profile member on AZB and when he does something like this it can have an impact which leads to other people helping out. It's a good thing.

If you have a family and kids and all that and can't afford the $15, then that's fine man, no one is upset at you, we don't think you're evil - but don't berate the guy who did something good.
 
FB didn't brag about $$ in the thread topic.. he just mentioned to support like he did. What's wrong with some of you.

For the record I have commented negatively about his posts before but this is rediculous imo.

No doubt Fatboy I have done everything I can too to help out by buying PPV's and such but also just posting on here on AZ how important it is to me and TAR to support them. Thanks for the post buddy.

I think it's funny. If you can't scrub up $15 I'm going to assume that you can't play a lick, or just don't gamble.

Someone may not like TAR because they don't like sitting infront of a computer to watch the action, that's fine, but I would think most people who don't like it just don't care much for pool and pool action.

So yeah, I said what I said and I stand by it because it is right. You can agrue, that's fine. You could possibly be someone who doesn't like pool, doesn't like action, or is busted, which might be why you took offence to what I said - I'm very sorry if this is the case. I meant no harm.

$15 buys me exactly 1/4 tank of gas.... those of us in the real world see it for what it is... its way to expensive..

if jcin ( great name btw i finally got it) or any of those guys want to upgrade to equipment capable of something better...

I am on board... building computers for specialized purposes is my bread and butter... I like what these guys are doing they have the right idea....

but unlike fatboy.

I got bills and TAR isn't a charity I'll build them all the machines they want... and each machine will come with a fully functional BILL payable upon delivery.

I like these guys I might even offer them a slight discount....

but as I said

this ain't a charity.

Sorry, Dude, but this thread is not an attack on FatBoy. Hate to pop your bubble on that one. I'm delighted he has helped TAR as much as he has, and wish there were more like him.

That said, guilt tripping folks isn't the way to go, IMHO.

If ever I have the time and the match is right, I'll buy the PPV from TAR. It just hasn't been, so far.

The encouragement that others give to solicit donations for worthy causes is often a good one; TAR isn't really a "cause".

I am just curious. Have you ever bought one of our Pay Per Views? If not how do you know what the quality is? Many people run the feed to a flatscreen LCD or Plasma and are very happy with the quality. Or can you build us a computer that will broadcast a HD signal all over the world that will meet all the expectations of everyone else who hasnt tried our product before trashing it?

I personally am unable to watch the coverage at home due to dialup. However I do show my support by purchasing a few dvds or PPV events from time to time.

Justin, you know I work in film production. And work with some of the finest technicians in the industry. That includes Disney, Warners, 20th Century Fox, Universal, HBO to name a few. Also worked on Video games for George Lucas (the Indiana Jones projects) , Spiderman for Universal, True Crime, Law and Order, Vivendi, Nickolodeon, Scooby Doo, etc. I dont think there are any pros working harder than you guys are to bring us wonderful entertainment. And with less technical gadgets. I know the time and effort and energy you guys are going through to get this to us. Without the union salary that technicians can make 6 figures a year on.
I just have such admiration and respect for you guys. I am resolved that its not the game that is weak but the selfishness and pettiness that revolves around us that cant see something for what its worth. Its not what the game can do for me its what you can do for the game. And you do a hell of a lot.
I just want to express my appreciation for you and Chad and all your crew. Thank you Brother.

Fatboy keep helping the TAR guys all you can or want to. There doing a great thing and I'm sure can use all the help. I can't imagine how much they have spent just getting and staying weeks at a time at these tournaments.
Now I can see how some people are getting tired of hearing about your money earned,spent,gambled and,given away it does get old.
