Thanks for posting the flyer, Steve. Some accurate qualifier dates and locations coming from host venues would be so helpful. It seems there's always a lack of information or complete misinformation surrounding the World Championship and the qualifiers in the months leading up to it.

Pat Fleming has announced that he is going to be Streaming the event on a PPV basis. check on accu-stats website for all the details as the date gets closer www.accu-stats.com

Boy isn't that the truth! Even more interesting to me is the fact that you would think.... This being the known mecca for all pool enthusiasts around the country and the world to talk about and learn about everything pool, that more would be posted here by promoters, and EVERYONE involved who stands to profit from the event.

I honestly don't get it. Sure funds are tight, sure its hard to get big dollar sponsors, sure advertising is expensive, but if I put myself in the situation of the folks running, hosting, streaming, sponsoring this event, I'd be posting about it all the time here keeping members updated, and exciting them more about it.

I mean wouldn't that be a simple, effective way to help insure a good turn out? A successful, profitable event? :shrug: It really is strange how little is posted about it.

Even hotel accommodations. I've asked about this online. Don't hotel owners want to promote their places? Wouldn't advertising about accommodations here be in their benefit? WTH, nothing. You gotta go nuts online mapquesting and guessing where to stay.

Come on people, we are here waiting. Your marketing kinda sucks.
 
Do the dates seem weird to anyone else? It's going from a Wednesday to a Monday?

I think we already did. C'mon, we'd love to hear what you have to say on the subject.

Maybe it's me, but shouldn't something as prestigious and honorable as a World Championship (of anything) be planned and the details communicated more in advance and more clearly and widely than they have been with this tournament? I knew further in advance of the exact date and location of my high school prom!

I heard rumors on here and decided to call Breaker Billiards to confirm before moving on to booking a room. Imagine having to call Texas Stadium, getting someone in ticket sales on the phone, and asking, "yeah, I heard the Super Bowl is going to be played there this year, is that correct?". And after they confirm, you ask, "Are you sure, because I'm going to book a room based on what you just said?". That's ridiculous, but absolutely true.

It ends on a Monday probably because it is my "High Italian Holiday". :) Columbus Day that is ..... ( I think) :grin:
