The Unthinkable...I cannot believe I have to sell her

Sorry to hear about your situation!

Props to whoever is buying the cue for agreeing to terms for reacquisiton!

Hayden, WTF? Why take a chance on someone messing up your beautiful cue? Go get yourself a short term loan or a line of credit. With today's economy in the tank, rates are rock bottom, as long as your credit is good and you have a steady job. Just some food for thought, sorry to hear about your troubles.

You're right about that. I work in the finance field...or did. However...my mom's health isn't the greatest these days...and I gave up my job months ago so I could take care of her and spend time with her. She's all I got. Infinitely more important to me than anything at all...much less a cue. I owe my mom more than money. I owe her everything I am. There's no repayment for that. I could spend the rest of my life trying...but it's not possible. But I can put my best foot forward trying. I have a couple options I'm looking at, and hopefully a few more will present themselves.

Sorry to hear the bad news Hayden. But your right new cues are made everyday, your moms health is more important. Wish you all the best with your sale & hope your mom gets better soon.

Why not just get a loan from forum members? O_o
10% interest sounds a hell of a lot better than the stock market atm.

That's in essence what he did...... it's a secured loan and the cue is collateral....

Good luck. If I were you, I'd make sure your "friend" pays what he needs to...

I have that kinda offer on the table right now. It's just the 10% is monthly with a minimum of 2 months. So I'd have to pay back $3600 on a $3000 loan over 60 days. I'm not sure 2 months is going to cut it...and the thought of paying $3900 back is a bit much...however...I might not have much choice. Not that I'm complaining...there's someone out there who doesn't know me from Adam who's willing to do something to help me out...and I appreciate that. We'll see. I have one other person to talk to tomorrow, then the writing will be on the wall. I just know I have to do something quickly.

That's the worst interest I've ever heard... I'd tell that guy to get f***ed for breaking it off in someone in a tight spot...

no money, no job. caretaker of a loved one, well i'm a huge "cue fan" such as you seem to be.....if that's true i would keep the cue, sell the Lexus 'as is' and buy a more practical car and take the ballance and use it to "live"........even a damaged Lexus is worth a good amount of money......for me a luxury car will always be second to anything i'm emotionally attached to.....good luck.....

Well...I talked to the estimator on the Lexus last night, and it's a total loss. The frame beneathe everything is mangled because of the impact with a 6' diameter concrete pilon. I'm going to have to scrap a $30K+ car.

Today...just made my situation worse. I got a knock at the door from a policeman from Plymouth Township serving me a foreclosure notice. I bought my house coming up on 5 years ago in August. At the time...I was working in the mortgage industry, and got myself a 5.5% rate, with no money down, no closing costs, no prepayment penalty, and without having to pay private mortgage insurance. I mean...swee doesn't even describe how good the deal was.

Fast forward a couple of years...and the townhouse association I live in entered a lawsuit against Gambone & Son (the developer) over improper installation of the stucco that covers the units. Needless to say Gambone fights this til the end. However...the stucco damage needed to be addressed immediately, because even though some units weren't having any trouble with it...it was hurting resale of the units because everyone was concerned it would be an issue all around.

So...they filed a limited common assessment on all of the units. We had to pay in full, up front. Because I mortgaged my house at 100% of its value, and housing values had dropped...I didn't have the equity to secure a loan for this. I just figured they'd put a lien up against the property that would have to be satisfied before the house could be refinanced or sold. Then this morning happened.

Now I need $29,216.89...otherwise my unemployed self, and my ailing mother are going to need to find alternative living arrangements.

How much fun is THIS? Man oh man. This cue will be the first of many things I'll be looking to sell. Anyone have interest in an 8 foot Brunswick Montabello pool table? LOL

Well...the Lexus was moms car. I have a Jeep Wrangler, which fortunately is also paid off. We'll see what the Lexus fetches in parts. There's a ton of stuff on this car, engine, heated seats, tires and wheels, transmission, all four doors and rear hatch, etc, that are in perfect condition.

And honestly? I love my cue. But I'll never be emotionally attached to anything that's not living, breathing, or left to me by a loved one. It's a pool cue.

A long time ago someone once told me..."Don't sweat the small stuff." Over time...if nothing else...I've discovered that, really...it's all small stuff. Some of it's just a little bit tougher to deal with.

Get your friend who ruined the car to cough up some dough.
If he refuses press charges for grand theft auto.

Also, do you have insurance for the car? If you can prove that you didn't give your keys to him but rather he took it from your other friend that you gave the keys to I think the insurance covers it as damages caused by criminal activity or something like that.

The foreclosure sucks though, I would try to work with ACORN. You may not agree with them, but they really could probably help a lot in your case.
