There should be a signature rule. Here are some suggestions:
5 lines max.
Must use size 2 or smaller.
No pictures allowed.

The picture files that are not reduced can really ruin a thread.

When a .jpeg file is posted up and is not reduced, it stretches the message screen, requiring one to scroll from left to right to read every single post in the thread.

If I had a 80-inch monitor, it would be okay.

is mine to big? i used small print.. :)

****edit.. i just bunched it up alittle better too... made it wider with less lines..

You make a good point about sigs and their length. Please let me know if mine is too long or problematic to anyone.

I like signatures that have quotes and/or what that person plays with. It lets us know who the person is. I also like contact info and links, just as long as it doesn't get too long. 5 lines seem to be plenty.
 
You can go under your User CP and select "Edit Options" and then scroll down and unclick the "Show Signatures" box

Bingo, they disappear :)

Thanks bro! I like sigs and don't think anyone's are a bother at all, but that should solve it for those who are not happy with them. Sounds like problems is kind of solved.

However, Jam is still right about the picture dimensions. Depending on your OS, some versions of windows has an auto image resizing setting for all pictures on the web, I don't know if this would help JAM.

I do this as well, avatars are turned off too. Mainly because I am on dialup and it loads a lot faster this way:eek:

It couldn't be much easier than that to anyone who has a problem with signatures. I like the sigs myself because of the variety.
 
I've seen sooooo much stinkin spam lately that the thought of it turns my stomach. HORMEL's stock has suffered....
