First I want to say that anytime someone who owes you money returns your call, Email, whatever, it's a hopeful sign.

I don't blame folks for being angry and posting their frustrations with the non payment issue, but since there are people waiting for checks who view and use this forum, I think name calling and reckless negative speculation is disrepectful to those IPT players and serves no constructive purpose.

I think the players who post here deserve all the respect and support we can give them.

Rackmsuckr, did you forward my earlier post to the big guy? Yeah, that interest idea should have gotten his attention! No wonder he recommended not paying attention to forums! lol

I still think the prompt response from Mr.Trudeau is positive though. I am more hopeful after hearing it.:)

IMHO the above assessment of the situation,before or after the answer Linda received,seems to be by far the most level headed,objective and credible overview that anyone has put forward.

Unless its addressed personally to Linda and contains answers to specific questions, good bet its automated or staffed and giving stock responses. Undoubtedly they are getting a bunch of emails. The immediate response would seem quite odd and suspecious to me, especially with the hype.

Yeah I like the above. I think if KT was a billionaire we would not have had this issue. Still, if he needs to scramble that does not predict good things for the future...

I've made a booking but have not paid for it yet, as I am still waiting to hear absolute confirmation of Chicago and the Qualifying event which some have said may now be in Reno instead of Vegas.

It has already cost me an extra $300 due to waiting to book the flights. The uncertainty of knowing when the payments will come through for Chicago (and the extra for the guaranteed 13k minimum) if we members, should not make the top100 would have to pay $2,000 to play in the qualifier for a 2007 season that many skeptics are saying may not occur. Plus the prospects of the costs of staying in the US for over 3 weeks. And if we do make the top100, must we attend the KOH?

These things are a concern and it would help if more concrete information was forthcoming.

I've taken a gamble and I'm losing money on it thus far. Despite having had the great opportunity to play in 2 fantastic events, there is a limit to how much gamble I've got in me.

All I can see is a desperate man buying time. This email conflicts with what Deno said, "The checks will be arriving soon",
but he forgot to add "As soon as KT finds the treasure to pay you guys off".

I understand Linda's predicament. All she and the other players could do is hope and pray KT strikes oil somewhere.
But I'm sick and tired of KT, DA and the IPT staff treating the players like they were kindergarten kids.

If there was a "deal" somehow complicating the payout process, then he should be a man and front the money out of his pocket, then have the terms of the "deal" reimburse him.

It took 31 days for KT to respond. That e-mail most likely will buy him another 10-14 days.

One thing to remember about conmen, they have no conscience and are amoral. Once a good person tries to treat them as they want to be treated they will be stomped on.

At this point I sure would be cancelling any plans or reservations I have for Chicago. Even if by some miracle the players do get paid whats to say the same thing will not happen again in Chicago? Even if somehow they did hold it the atmosphere at the event would not be a healthy one.

Agreed. Unless the sunny rhetoric gets replaced by CASH, real quick, KT's response isn't any good news at all. It's the tap dancing of a manipulator.

If your conscience allows you to ruthlessly bilk the terminally ill, it certainly won't bother you to swindle a few pool players.

Not only does this damage the IPT's claims that they were going to pay on time, but when a Billionaire is so low that he wouldn't front the money out of pocket to his players, most of whom are low-income types, it's disrespectful. That's serious mistreatment. "The IPT will treat you like professionals" ..."the IPT will pay you like professionals"...


You know it's bad when Deno aliases and comes on here making apologist posts for the IPT.

Of course KT hates internet forums the same way a dictator, oppressor or abuser hates free-speech or criticism. Anything that can threaten his/their image is a big negative. He'd rather everyone drink the IPT kool-aid. He's not used to businesses where there's scrutiny and feedback. He's always been a conman and BS artist who tricks old people and sick people into buying his lousy books and products. He doesn't run the kind of businesses that expect return customers and that has extensive customer service or complaint departments. He's got your cash? You're dirt.

Sure, the internet is a source of haters and bashers even when things are going good. However, it is a great source of information. It is a great place to expose sh1ttyness when it's happening.

Don't want to be BBQ'ed by the internet? Don't do stupid things like not paying the players. Without internet forums, I'd bet hardly anyone (except the players and the immediate people they speak with and a few industry folks) would even know about the failure to pay out.

Is it the masses business? Not really, but we're the fans and the supporters of the sport. As far as I know, the IPT is years away from getting the so-called new blood fans. So for now, the existing pool fan base, the very fan base that KT has insulted and bashed and has modeled the IPT not to please...is what's supporting the IPT.


I've been 100% supportive and positive of the IPT in the past on this forum. I can't stand bashers and haters because early on they had no leg to stand on other than misinformation and conspiracy theories or just envy and hate. However, I'm a logical and fair person, and now that the IPT has legitimately screwed up - they deserve the negativity found on this forum. Every last bit. Reward good behavior, punish bad behavior.


Of all the various condescending and insulting things KT has said or implied about pool fans....his constant negative statements about internet forums clearly expose him as someone with something to hide - and that is the most insulting.

Not only has he NOT paid...but he's telling his player, someone he owes $5,000.00 to, what they should and shouldn't read or listen to.

Come on, come clean. That was a phony email reply, right? KT is too intelligent to spell words incorrectly and not capitalize the names of folks he respects. The sentence construction does not sound like him at all.

I'm sure KT has an assistant or mgr or someone to check his email... if Deno does (he told me so) then I know that KT does. I'm sure whoever has that lovely job has been given a script of what to say. They probably just change some words around every once in awhile so that if people compare emails, they won't have the exact same cookie cutter letter.

After all, if he ignores forums or doesn't waste time looking at them, how does he know what's being said on them then?
