Why not? People are so used to calling President Bush a liar without being disciplined why should calling Linda a liar be any different? That is the society we live in.

Did anyone actually use the word "liar"?

When I first read it I laughed and said sure he did. My first thought was someone in his office was just pulling her leg.

Then to add doubt Linda said she didn't post the entire e-mail.

Who here really knows Linda. What kind of person is she. How trustworthy. I met her in Orlando but I really know absolutely nothing about her.

Do I believe that KT really replied to her e-mail? Not a chance in hell.
But then early on I did get replies from Deno.

Did she make it up? Most likely not. But I don't put it past her because I just do not know her.

Do I think the IPT is dead. Yep, yep, yep.

Jake, you seem to be getting bi-polar these days. No, you don't know me, but unless you do, then can you just refrain from posting doubts about my integrity at all? I make it a point to wish people a happy birthday when I can. I try 99% of the time to be positive in my posts. I give good reps when I can to people and you don't even see those. I don't do it as something I need to do to validate myself, if you think that was what KT's email was. I like to think I am just a nice person. I am a deeply caring individual and sincerely care about the health of the pool industry, tour, and future.

I also have the personal email addresses of each and every IPT member. Don't think I haven't thought about mass emailing them (like I did once before for a cue survey) to ask what their thoughts are on this situation. But integrity wins out every time and I will not bother those members. I have also had knowledge about things that I have not posted in the forums. Friends tell me secrets that I don't even tell my husband. For as much as I talk, I can also be discreet. And please don't go comparing me to President Bush.

I did not include the whole email that engendered his response in my original post, because people here already knew about that thread. You will be pleased to note that I actually used most of your post.

30 days past due

Something very good better happen this week. Unfortunately, for those players who haven't yet already, now would be an appropriate time for the players to begin to get organized and figure out what their next move should be.

As a huge fan of pool, The way the IPT tour is stalling on this prize money thing is absolutely inexcusable and embarrassing to witness. I really admire the way the players have handled this situation and I'm sure they will continue to do so in the same fair and supportive manner.

The smartest thing I think the IPT could do now, on top of cutting the checks, is for the IPT to voluntarily pay a reasonable amount of interest on the prize money owed. Do it without it being demanded. I can't think of a better, more cost effective way to help settle the speculation regarding the intentions of the IPT founders and the long term commitment of the IPT.

Maybe the players got paid in the time it took me to write this!

Lets look at some other things that happen after 30 days of non-pay:
1) 30 days late on your rent- can sometimes get you evicted
2) 30 days late on your credit card payment- can get your account frozen until a payment is made.
3) 30 days late on your phone/cable/electricity- usually results in them being turned off.

Point is....30 days late is a long time for no resolve when a payment is due!

30 days late on rent? Hell, you get a 5 day notice if you are 3 days late.

Tomorrow makes 31 days. Now that is serious.

One month for sure.

But since everyone now agrees that the IPT is a dead deal and with all the bad publicity for the late, and now almost a certainty of non-payment of prize money, their reputation is forever marred.

It hasn't looked good for 30 days and with each day it looks worse.

The only question left to be answered is when are they going to declare bankruptcy?

Linda, I don't know you either (my loss) but I think that you are one of the most liked and respected people posting on AZ.

Your explaination of yourself and your motives were not necessary for 99.9% of the board, we all knew.

Since both you and Mike are very personally and emotionally involved, no one can, or should fault you for putting on a strong game face and remaining publicaly positive about the IPT's chances of survival, regardless of their own beliefs.

Sometimes people get overpassionate about their own opinions and speak out of turn, that's probably the case here. You are owed an apology and I wouldn't be surprised if you get one. Good luck to you, hope everything works out well.

I went back through thinking that I must've missed something... everyone is up in arms about Linda being called a liar.

Six pages and 86 posts... not once did anyone call her a liar. There is ONE post that seems to be questionable. I didn't take the post as the person saying SHE personally made up the email.... I took the post as this.... when someone tells you something that you know to be true but it's so absurd, sometimes those of us with a smart alleck, dry sense of humor will tend to act completely surprised and say "no way, get out, you're lying". We are of course being facetious in showing that we think something is so stupid and/or ridiculous that it shouldn't be true. I think Jerry thought that everything about that email was asinine and that KT should be ashamed of his punctuation and typing skills overall.

FTR, sometimes people have assistants to open personal email too. I'm not saying that's what KT did, but it certainly is plausible. Many people of wealth don't just have assistants in an office... some have personal assistants that help them manage their personal affairs.

Please, put this whole "Linda shouldn't have to defend herself" stuff to rest already. One post in 86 that can and has been taken two different ways but in no way called her a liar and I haven't' seen anyone else in this thread say anything negative to her. Six pages and at least a quarter or more are of people freaking out because Linda had to defend herself.

Linda, like my first post in this thread... this isn't geared at you. I've always respected you and your opinion and you've always tried to be fair and non-confrontational. I like you, I always have. You know me well enough to know that I'm very outspoken and will stand up for those that I think have been wronged or are in the right. If I thought for one second that anyone was calling you a liar about the email or was trying to flame you, I would've stuck up for you in a heartbeat. 2 strikes be damned, I would've said something. (I got my 1st strike sticking up for someone that I didn't know but that was getting treated horribly. I'll stand my ground if I believe in it.) I just don't think Jerry's post was what you made it out to be and if anyone else posted anything that can be construed as flaming, I missed it when I went back and re-read everything.

I am on the players side here and if you have KTs personal email, then please send him one EVERYDAY.....I know if I had it, I would email him twice a day probably to try and light a fire under his ass to get this resolved.

Jake, I agree with you that suggesting that someone other than KT wrote the email is in no way calling Linda a liar. I suggested the same thing myself and I certainly did not mean that Linda was lying....it was a suggestion that KT might have a personal assistant reply to emails from certain groups or about certain topics... they might weed out the stuff he doesn't want to deal with, even in his personal email.

I think your response was uncalled for and not true. Linda is not acting like a desperate person trying to get what little she can out of a scam and it wasn't fair or nice of you to say so. I simply think she misunderstood what you & Jerry meant. For the record, giving out rep points does count.... it means she takes the time to let people know that she appreciates them and what they've said and/or done. It's a nice gesture.

I never said Linda should give his email address out...I said I think someone should.....Ethics or not...Kt isnt someone with an unblemished past, he's a con man, so normal people's ethics and rights do not apply to him "in my book".

But it reminds me of why we needed the IPT in the first place ..... pool, unlike golf, has a horrific reputation that keeps it from getting big sponsor money. Sponsors throw big money at golf and the PGA makes sure that its players maintain a professional image. If a sponsor were to view some of the antics in this thread, it would be a big turnoff. For those of you that threw stones at Linda, please consider how you added to pool's sordid image by doing so. We need to clean up our act, and a being respectful is a good start.

I guess I should rephrase my original question to you... all applies but please leave out Jerry's post and Jakes last post. I've already addressed Jerry's post on here twice... right after he made it and just a few min ago. I've met Jerry as have a lot of people here... he's got a dry, smart alleck sense of humor... I took his post to be facetious.

I give up... a mountain has been made out of a mole hill... actually the grand canyon has been made out of a mole hill. I've tried to point out how his post, was IMO misunderstood by Linda. I looked at both sides... I can see where Linda might think the way she did from his post, but the context in which I saw it was completely different.... that's the kind of sense of humor I have so maybe that's why it's easy for me to read it the way that I did. None of that matters... no one here wants to look at BOTH sides... Ya'll have fun, IMO this has reached the point of being ridiculous and I can't say anymore than I already have so I'll simply not read anymore posts in this thread. That way I'm not bothering you guys trying to get you to see that there's another posibility and you guys aren't bothering me with your one sided view.

Timberly, I agree this has gotten way out of hand, and you have been doing a good job of interpreting.

I also agree that KT COULD HAVE had a flunkie answer his emails for him. However, to me, the syntax and punctuation tells me it was him (he?). Also, like I said earlier, who would hire someone that didn't proofread for typos, etc.? I think he was rushing and wanted to get the email back to me.

Jerry, if I misunderstood your intentions, then I apologize. Use a smiley face or something so I will know next time.

And Jake....oh never mind.
