Think Lil John got ripped off

:p :D :p Just my opinion but how could a guy that's $50,000 winner and goes home dead broke not get the award for "sending it in" as Tony Watson did last year. Lil John should have gotten the award instead of Scott Frost but as usual, politics dictated otherwise. I never saw Frost bet a dollar, and he's certainly not as entertaining as Lil John. Oh well, if he stays home a few years, maybe you'll will get to appreciate the way he sends it in year after year. Shame on the tourney promoters for this horrible decision.

Not as entertaining? Never seen him bet a dollar????? are you nuts?!?!!? no one matches up as often and better than frost at the derby, hes in action 24/7, him winning this award is fair.

Hi, Gerald! :) I've got a little insider knowledge about the voting process for the Louie Roberts A/E Award.

This year, there were so many wonderful players who provided entertainment and action for those in attendance, and Little John was definitely in the running due to his fine performance. It wasn't only Little John, but Sparky, Scott Frost, Gabe Owen, Corey Deuel, Efren Reyes, just to name several, were right there at the top.

I do not believe in my heart that this was a political decision by any means. I think it was tough to pick only one, and after several weeks of deliberation and discussion, over 20 votes were cast by those who were there at the DCC and the majority chose Scott Frost this year who won by a slim margin.

We all have our favorites, just like the recent BCA's decision for their Hall of Fame. Even though Earl Strickland, a six-time world champion and five-time U.S. Open winner, didn't get the honors this year, he was a qualified candidate, just like Little John was for the Louie Roberts A/E Award. Robin Dodson and Mike Massey got the gold ring this year for the BCA's Hall of Fame, even though Earl won the popular vote by an overwhelming two-thirds majority on an AzBilliards poll.

Even though I did not attend the DCC this year, from all the postings and reports I heard from the homeboys, Little John was right in the pit 24/7. Unfortunately, there can only be one winner, and Scott got the honors this year by a slim margin, but it was a collective vote, not political, and there can only be one. JMHO, FWIW! :)

Only 20 people got to vote? Who were they comprised of? I was there for 4 days and I really didn't see Frost promoting himself as he did in 2004.

heres who should have won

JAM, maybe you're right

:p Like I said before, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I still can't believe Lil John didn't win. Oh well, such is life ! :( :(

Best if we just recognize Lil Jon as somebody who made his mark at the DCC this year. It's obvious from the posts that Jon matched up often and provided a lot of entertainment, so he's a winner in my book.

get some vcash and someone may listen to you....
You did, right? Nuff said then! Vcash? That's funny you mention that because I don't even have real cash. But if I could play an idiot like you every day then I wouldn't have a problem. Who are you anyway? Other than some sicko who likes to put up pictures of his/her little fantasy world and hides behind his/her computer and bashes people that have done nothing wrong to you. I'd stomp your ass if you gave me the chance, but we all know that's not going to happen because you're a chicken shit. So, go ahead and bash me for awhile if it makes you feel better, I welcome it. It's been awhile since I got into the mix with someone so let's have some fun. Maybe you'll have the balls to reveal who you really are so we'll all know who to look for when we go to a tournament someday. Then you can bet your vcash when we go outside!

If this is the edited version, I wonder what you took out of the original? lol

Refreshing to see someone tell it like it is.

I'd say as far as the "action" side of it goes, it was tit for tat with Scott and Lil John. But as far as the "entertainment" end, no one compares to Lil John in that catagory IMO.

Scott sends it in as well as anybody when he's in a good One pocket game. I felt like he deserved it last year .......Did last year have an affect on this year's decision?? I don't know. I know Lil Jon will get this award in the near future because he stays in action every year at the DCC. It's just a matter of time.

Well, you can bet what you want when you show up, playing or dancing. Your choice. 2750 Neal, Kingman, Arizona. I'll be waiting for you on the porch.

You've got my address, just show up, you'll get played for any amount you want. After I get done whippin' your ass on the table, then we can go outside and "DANCE", as you put it. Oh, and that weight you mentioned, keep it, you'll be begging for weight when we get done. You know a lot of players in my area huh? I wish I knew where they were because they sure aren't in this town. So, get your pansy ass out here and we'll play any game you can think of, but remember, when we're done playing, we dance.

I would love to play but your busted...And gremlin well we all know gremlins little secret.my name is mark hammad i live in california if you ever make a score or get a job look me up...you get the last 2 anyway....
I already beat you on your home court dumbass, back when I couldn't even play. Then you begged someone to stake you at Town and Country Billiards in Berkley but they didn't want any because they knew you couldn't win. And you still can't. So, come on down, I'm sure I can find someone to bet what you've got, maybe someone named Jason. Yeah, remember you sent those 2 kids outside the bowling alley to whip my ass when they were messing with him inside and they didn't come back in, right? That's what I thought! So, I don't give a damn what you say to Gremlin, I don't even know him. The reason I got into this thread is because you're an asshole and I know I can back up what I say. Can you? Show up, and we'll see!

Rude Dog, believe me when I tell you that it ain't worth the effort to get mad at Internet sucker-punchers who take pleasure in bashing others. My hands are not clean, as I, too, have been confronted on numerous occasions by trolls and engaged in a war of the words, and in the end, it was a great learning experience. When you respond and show your disdain or anger, the Internet troll has already won the first battle. If you ever get a chance to meet some of the Internet trolls in person, you'll regret that you ever gave them more than 5 seconds of your time.

I got a chance to meet Rude Dog at last year's Open, and he's one of the FINEST individuals I've met on the tournament trail, as nice as he could be and a pleasure to be around.

Gremlin, everybody here on AzBilliards Discussion Forum enjoys your contributions, whether it is the latest information about upcoming events, a trip report, or pictures of the players. Some of us wouldn't even know who some of these professionals are if it were not for Gremlin taking the time to post.

I say ignore the Internet troll. When you respond, you are feeding an ugly cancer which will continue to spread on this forum, unless and until the administrator sees fit to ban them from further posting.

Thank you Jam, I know you're right, I just get irritated once in awhile and I feel the need to say something. I like to throw the woofing in there too because ya never know, it just might get somebody down here to play. And, my ego gets in the way at times and I don't back down to anyone. Not that I'm such a tough guy or anything, but I can take care of myself. The story I told about the bowing alley and Town and Country Billiards is true, btw. He almost had me busted and when I showed some heart and came back on him, he sent 2 guys over to mess with my friend. I put my cue down on the table and went outside with both of them. I came back in alone. Then I busted him! The next day his stake horse wouldn't stake him because he knew he couldn't win. The stake horse gave me his pager # if I ever needed his money in a game, especially against that guy. This was years ago when I had been playing for about 2 years. My first road trip to Northern Ca. The same trip when I busted one of the Ferroni kids at his place on the way back home. Kim Davenport was there to see that too. Anyway, you're right Jam, I'll leave it alone now. It's not worth it. Unless he comes here to play. :D Peace, John.
