Thinking of acquiring a 60" cue and have questions.

I'm 6'1" with fairly long arms and have been playing with a 59" cue for a while. I wanted some more extra length so I had Paul Sumrall build me a cue with a 31" butt and ~30" shaft with the wrap a little further back then normal. It's balanced very well, and the shaft taper is stiff enough that there is no "whippiness" whatsoever. Plus, with the wrap further back my hand is always on it instead of the butt sleeve. I'm all for the longer cues, and in my experience they're not unwieldy or cumbersome as long as you have a good cuemaker who knows how to deal with the extra length.

I also use 60 inch cue. I got my fist one back in 06.And Paul is also currently building me playing & Break cue both will be at 60 inch.

I find you can reach alot more of the table with that length, With out using the bridge:smile:

I wear 35" shirt sleeves. I played with a 60" cue for many years. While I liked the extra length, I didn't like the extra flex in many 30" shafts. As I was messing around with test shafts, I tried a couple 29" shafts and liked them. So now I have a 30" butt and a 29" shaft, and it's perfectly suited to me.

60"

I've got a 60" cue that I traded from Jay Helfert about 2-3 years ago. He said it resembled a Gilbert Cue and it's mostly plain but is in perfect, new feeling condition. While I was waiting for his Cue I got a great deal on another Cue and other than hitting his a dozen or so practice strokes I've never played with it. (Also, now I have 8-10 nice cues, just sold a Schon for $1000 so I don't need this one).
The amount we worked with on both Cues was $300 and thats what I would sell it for. Plus shipping and insurance.
Let me know if you're interested.

Here's a pic of my 60" Widowmaker (Hearn) next to a 58". The shafts and the butt are 1" longer.

my first custom!

I just got my first custom cue today. It is an Al Romero. It's 60 inches even 30 on shaft and butt. I've been playing with it today and I feel that I can give the world the 8! Just kidding. I do like it thought. His cue feels great, well balanced and all. I've played only 58 inched cues but these extra two inches feel great! Im not that tall, only about six feet tall, maybe a lil taller but I've become accustomed to it. Im truly happy with my 60 inch cue.

I am 6' tall and have tried out various lengths to find what works best for me. Settled on 59" even split.

Ditto, and ditto. I've had two Paul Dayton 59" cues (my favs) and a very nice 60" Darren Hill.

Someone said earlier that the Filipinos play with longer cues (59"-62"). I understand that to be correct and apparently they believe it accomodates their longer strokes...Tom
