I am seeing quite a few of these on bulletins from My Space. I posted mine yesterday, but thought I would start it here and elaborate a little, and change all Myspace references to AZB. I think it would be interesting to read everyone else's.
1. When was the last time you played?
Last Saturday night. Won $5 lousy bucks too!
2. When will you play next?
Tonight, an 8ball tournament I haven't been to in months...Update, I went, was the only female in the tournament. Played Mike to go on the loser's side. Then played a guy and I had the chance to win, but the 8 caromed off a ball and went in too early. Result, 4th place and $10 buckaroos! Woot!
3. Have you ever played with one of your AZB friends? Who?
Ummagumma, Manwon, GirlWon1, Ridewiththewind, Mr J, 8 ball Bernie, Colin, Aunty Dan, Stoltz, RealKingCobra, Asiasdad, Cigar Dave, Toomanybugs, Hilla Hilla, CHRIM, HSholes, Kristi Carter, Craig Arnold, Johnahl (deceased a few months ago
), Centered 5050
, and Cheesethe9.
Women pros - Melissa Herndon, Sarah Roussey, Jennifer Barretta and they all kicked my butt (but I did not play anywhere near my speed either!
), Kerry Impson, my buddy
, Eieio59, RobRoy, Allie, and Angel Paglia.
Men pros - Grady, Johnny Archer, John Schmidt, JamesRoberts, and LilJon.
4. Where do you play, mainly?
Either at home or Harvey's for big tables (but usually in a tournament), or for bar boxes, Mike's Place in Renton on Friday nights, and sometimes Saturday nights too.
5. What's your playing cue?
Viking P6 - ebony and ivory with leather wrap, extra skinny shaft and butt.
6. What's your game of choice?
8-Ball - because there is no slop, because you have to pocket an equal amount of balls to win (usually), because there is more strategy and more variation, and because luck is not as big a factor in winning.
7. Do you use a chalk holder? If so, what kind?
A guy in Canada makes them. They are like the magnet kind except they lock in place, so you can't lose it.
8. Your favorite colored cloth: Pro blue
9. Your favorite pool movie: The Hustler/COM. Favorite vid - Accustat matches and Jimmy Reid No Time for Negative
10. Your favorite pro (men): Efren!
11. Your favorite pro (lady): Jasmin Ouschan, Ga Young Kim, and Jeanette
12. Did you ever shark someone in retaliation?
No, I won't lower myself to their standards. But I sure have been tempted!
13. How long have you been playing?
35 years
14. Do you gamble at pool?
Not really, unless asked to
15. What kind of tip is on your playing cue?
Le Pro or Talisman
16. What's the best part of your game?
Kicking multiple rails.
17. Have you ever hustled someone?
No, but I have won money off innocent lambs, lol.
18. Have you ever been hustled?
Sort of but not for much. I say sort of because I knew there was a good chance I would lose, but I wanted to anyway, so I'm not sure if that qualifies as being hustled.
19. Have you ever lost a serious game to someone of the opposite sex?
Too many times!
20. Does your significant other play pool?
Yes, but he can barely hold a cue.
21. Do you own a pool video?
Several
22. Your favorite pool book: 99 Critical Shots
23. How long does it take for you to get over losing?
Depends on how important the game was and the way I lost. I can remember to this day, certain losses that were very bitter. However, I can remember the wins the same way. Usually, I take my losses very easily, which is worrisome.
24. Do you own a jump stick?
Yes, Lucasi
25. Who's the best player you have ever beaten?
Well, I was 3-1 against Allison in a tournament (until she woke up), and 6-5 against Santos in practice. Actually beaten in a tournament? My husband, Mike Zimmerman in a 1-pocket game coached by Warren Costanza (Monk), and also several races to 1-3 tournaments. Kris Iverson, and Raul in races to 9. I also broke and ran a rack against Earl Strickland (9ball) and ditto against Mike Massey (8ball) during their exhibitions.
Women, I guess Monica Webb, twice in tournaments. During a charity event in Seattle before a WPBA event, (I believe in 1995?) I paid to play all the players races to 3 - Vivian, Jeanette, Belinda, Robin, Loree Jon, Ewa, Gerda, and won against all of them except Allison. Since it was a charity event, I doubt they were trying all that hard, though.
