I am seeing quite a few of these on bulletins from My Space. I posted mine yesterday, but thought I would start it here and elaborate a little, and change all Myspace references to AZB. I think it would be interesting to read everyone else's.

1. When was the last time you played?
Last Saturday night. Won $5 lousy bucks too!

2. When will you play next?
Tonight, an 8ball tournament I haven't been to in months...Update, I went, was the only female in the tournament. Played Mike to go on the loser's side. Then played a guy and I had the chance to win, but the 8 caromed off a ball and went in too early. Result, 4th place and $10 buckaroos! Woot!

3. Have you ever played with one of your AZB friends? Who?
Ummagumma, Manwon, GirlWon1, Ridewiththewind, Mr J, 8 ball Bernie, Colin, Aunty Dan, Stoltz, RealKingCobra, Asiasdad, Cigar Dave, Toomanybugs, Hilla Hilla, CHRIM, HSholes, Kristi Carter, Craig Arnold, Johnahl (deceased a few months ago :( ), Centered 5050  , and Cheesethe9.

Women pros - Melissa Herndon, Sarah Roussey, Jennifer Barretta and they all kicked my butt (but I did not play anywhere near my speed either! :( ), Kerry Impson, my buddy :) , Eieio59, RobRoy, Allie, and Angel Paglia.

Men pros - Grady, Johnny Archer, John Schmidt, JamesRoberts, and LilJon.

4. Where do you play, mainly?
Either at home or Harvey's for big tables (but usually in a tournament), or for bar boxes, Mike's Place in Renton on Friday nights, and sometimes Saturday nights too.

5. What's your playing cue?
Viking P6 - ebony and ivory with leather wrap, extra skinny shaft and butt.

6. What's your game of choice?
8-Ball - because there is no slop, because you have to pocket an equal amount of balls to win (usually), because there is more strategy and more variation, and because luck is not as big a factor in winning.

7. Do you use a chalk holder? If so, what kind?
A guy in Canada makes them. They are like the magnet kind except they lock in place, so you can't lose it.

8. Your favorite colored cloth: Pro blue

9. Your favorite pool movie: The Hustler/COM. Favorite vid - Accustat matches and Jimmy Reid No Time for Negative

10. Your favorite pro (men): Efren!

11. Your favorite pro (lady): Jasmin Ouschan, Ga Young Kim, and Jeanette

12. Did you ever shark someone in retaliation?
No, I won't lower myself to their standards. But I sure have been tempted!

13. How long have you been playing?
35 years

14. Do you gamble at pool?
Not really, unless asked to  ;)

15. What kind of tip is on your playing cue?
Le Pro or Talisman

16. What's the best part of your game?
Kicking multiple rails.

17. Have you ever hustled someone?
No, but I have won money off innocent lambs, lol.

18. Have you ever been hustled?
Sort of but not for much. I say sort of because I knew there was a good chance I would lose, but I wanted to anyway, so I'm not sure if that qualifies as being hustled.

19. Have you ever lost a serious game to someone of the opposite sex?
Too many times!

20. Does your significant other play pool?
Yes, but he can barely hold a cue. :D :p

21. Do you own a pool video?
Several

22. Your favorite pool book: 99 Critical Shots

23. How long does it take for you to get over losing?
Depends on how important the game was and the way I lost. I can remember to this day, certain losses that were very bitter. However, I can remember the wins the same way. Usually, I take my losses very easily, which is worrisome. :(

24. Do you own a jump stick?
Yes, Lucasi

25. Who's the best player you have ever beaten?
Well, I was 3-1 against Allison in a tournament (until she woke up), and 6-5 against Santos in practice. Actually beaten in a tournament? My husband, Mike Zimmerman in a 1-pocket game coached by Warren Costanza (Monk), and also several races to 1-3 tournaments. Kris Iverson, and Raul in races to 9. I also broke and ran a rack against Earl Strickland (9ball) and ditto against Mike Massey (8ball) during their exhibitions.

Women, I guess Monica Webb, twice in tournaments. During a charity event in Seattle before a WPBA event, (I believe in 1995?) I paid to play all the players races to 3 - Vivian, Jeanette, Belinda, Robin, Loree Jon, Ewa, Gerda, and won against all of them except Allison. Since it was a charity event, I doubt they were trying all that hard, though.

None

10. Your favorite pro (men): Danny Harriman

11. Your favorite pro (lady): Jeanette Lee

12. Did you ever shark someone in retaliation?

17. Have you ever hustled someone?

No

18. Have you ever been hustled?

No

19. Have you ever lost a serious game to someone of the opposite sex?

Sure! I never understood why this is an issue with some folks. A woman who can play pool well is one of the sexiest things God graced upon the earth!

20. Does your significant other play pool?

Not really, wished she did more, but you can't force these things.

21. Do you own a pool video?

23. How long does it take for you to get over losing?

If I played well, not long at all. If I played poorly, then I freak out.

24. Do you own a jump stick?

No, but this will change soon. I can usually masse or kick myself out of trouble. There is just something gimmicky about jumping that I haven't really accepted yet. I personally think the game would be better without them being allowed, but I don't want to lose a tournament because of my stubborness.

25. Who's the best player you have ever beaten?

I've knocked some great players out of the money at Chris's weekly tournaments, including an IPT qualifier player. I've won the unhandicapped weekly 8-ball tourney there a couple of times, but in honesty, I would have to say some of the better players I have won against made some uncharacteristic mistakes and beat themselves while I was just standing there.

I'm not sure I've ever NOT sharked someone in retaliation. Actually, what I mean by that is that I won't let someone get away with it... I will embarrass them in front of whoever happens to be watching. Anyone who saw the circus I made out of the 2006 Maryland 14.1 tournament can attest ;)

1. When was the last time you played?
Last night. Practiced straight pool on my bar box at home.

2. When will you play next?
Tonight. Need to make money for Valley Forge! Will hopefully be gambling all night as long as their's action.

3. Have you ever played with one of your AZB friends? Who?
New to azb, but have played w/ quitecoolguy (the only person here I know in real life)

4. Where do you play, mainly?

Practice straight pool at home on a bar box to avoid table time and distractions. (really helps with concentration, consistency, and fundamentals) Then, I gamble many places around Richmond, and mainly play out of Breakers in Midlothian. (9ball on 9's ofcourse)

5. What's your playing cue?
Joss w/ 1st gen Predator Z shaft, and a Jump/Break Vintage.

6. What's your game of choice?
9-Ball - because it's the premier money and tournament game today, and is a simple and quick game on the surface, but requires more skill than in 8ball (IMO). If you run out to the last ball in 8ball but can't get out because of all the balls and the layout that's virtually impossible to get to, you're most certainly going to lose mainly due to bad luck, not because you were outplayed. Nineball on the other hand, in the long run such as a race to nine, requires more skill than 8ball, because you have to get out or play a precise safety (luck is short term), and if you're playing someone good, a mistake causes a loss of game. In 8ball, when you get to a certain point, you may not make a mistake, but it's just virtually impossible to get out, and then you can't really play safe to their 7 balls, so if you don't get out even a C player will beat you, thus not requiring much skill. If I miss in 9ball, I'm assurred that it's going to take a decent player with skill to get out and beat me by repeatedly having to get good shape for one ball and/or making really tough shots. That's just my opinion, but I do acknowledge that 8ball requires more strategy than nine-ball.

I prefer to practice using games such as straight pool by myself, because it focuses on consistency, concentration, and precision, which is how I want my nine-ball game to be, and is what most nine-ball players lack. Even players better than me, the best in my city, have a wild and sloppy power stroke. If you apply principles in straight pool to nine-ball the game is much simpler, and inevitably I'll be much more consistent no matter how far they can draw the ball or how many tough shots they can make. Consistency is what wins matches.

7. Do you use a chalk holder? N/A

8. Your favorite colored cloth: Light green

9. Your favorite pool movie: The Color of Money followed by The Hustler and Poolhall Junkies

10. Your favorite pro (men): Efren for his mentality and creativity, and Johnny Archer for his fundamentals, stroke, and power game.

11. Your favorite pro (lady): Allison Fisher for her consistent attitude and mentality, and Kelly Fisher because I've personally met and watched her play (extremely underrated by most people and very polite - love her accent)

However, I have never seen Jasmin play and just recently didn't no she existed, but from what I see and hear, she'll probably be up there on my list before too long!

12. Did you ever shark someone in retaliation?
Never. I am the fairest player with the most etiquette when playing. (meaning i always give a good rack, and stand away from the table very quietly when others shoot - i don't always give people fair games weight wise tho)

13. How long have you been playing?
Started on bar boxes playing 8ball when I was 5, then quit when I was 13 (8 years)

Started back up at 16 when I got my driver's license still playing 8 ball on bar boxes. (1 year) Finally started playing 9ball on 9foots when I was 17 , and just turned 20 a week ago. (little less than 3 years)

So in total, about 12 years, but I didn't really start playing until I was 17, so 3 years seriously with the most progression.

14. Do you gamble at pool?
Everyday. Only way I've gotten better.

15. What kind of tip is on your playing cue?
Right now - Le Pro, but usually Moori Medium

16. What's the best part of your game?
my stroke and my realistic and critical nature (sometimes a weakness)

17. Have you ever hustled someone?
Yes, but it's always been people who have no money to start out with, so I go through all that trouble for $5-$20 (i'm not a good hustler)

18. Have you ever been hustled?
Not really, I haven't got out of my city much, so I pretty much know all of the good players, and am smart about the games I make.

19. Have you ever lost a serious game to someone of the opposite sex?
Definitely, recently in fact. I was giving her a lot of weight, but there was tension, and given the way I was playing, she could of beaten me with alot less. I gave her a spot I would have needed my best game for, given how good she was playing. Still haunts me to this day :(

20. Does your significant other play pool?
Complicated.

21. Do you own a pool video?
A couple that include matches (such as phil capelle's archer vs reyes video w/ in depth analysis), and all the pool movies.

22. Your favorite pool book: Hustler Days by R.A. Dyer - very good book about the life of three of the best hustlers in history (covers the 20's-50's era mainly). Great for inspiration; Very interesting stories in an era where pool was played for pride and survival rather than for recreation, money, and fame.

23. How long does it take for you to get over losing?
Worste part of my game. I take losses too seriously and am over-critical of myself. As I've gotten older and my mental game has matured, I get over losses almost imediately after, but am still very upset right after. It also depends on who I played, the spot, the stakes, etc.

24. Do you own a jump stick?
Yes, Vintage Jump/Break

25. Who's the best player you have ever beaten?
I have never played against anyone worth mentioning honestly. I've played and beaten all of the best players in my city, but rarely travel anywhere else. I beat some 45th ranked pro 2-0 on some fury tour two years ago at Valley Forge in a "challenge a pro" type thing they had, but that's pretty pointless. I've beaten the prior 4th ranked planet nine-ball points holder who lives in my city and has beaten several pros including Mike Davis and Allen Hopkins in several tournaments. I need to start traveling, once I have a car that I have faith will make it more than 30 miles :P

25. Who's the best player you have ever beaten? I'm going to assume this question includes tournament matches: Jose Parica, Rico Diks, Ernesto Dominguez, Keith McCready. Efren got some bad advice once back in the early 90's and gave me the 6-out and the breaks, that was too big a trap for even him to escape. ;)

21. Do you own a pool video? The Baltimore Bullet

23. How long does it take for you to get over losing? I don't mind losing, but I hate not playing to my potential every time I pick up my cue.

24. Do you own a jump stick? Yes, but I never use them.

25. Who's the best player you have ever beaten? I am going to refrain from answering that, as this question is very vague. Individual games but never in a tournament style setting: Hillbilly 2 years ago (man), and Tammi Wesley 15 years ago/Kim White about 3 years ago (woman)
