This forum has much potential

I've met a lot of great people on here.

And I've matched up with AZ'ers all over the world.

Next week I'll be in Thailand with several AZ'ers.

And I'm bringing new iPads for Monto P2 and gobrian77.

I think they would both say that AZ is a great way to get the latest iPads delivered.

FaceBook is probably better...

If you mean, we just get on with it without making it into an unfathomable science, then guilty as charged.

I sometimes play with a world champion English 8 baller. Get this - he hadn't heard of deflection until I explained it to him; even then, he was dubious. I was going to ask him about aiming systems, but already knew the answer to that.

You talk. We play.

And yet here you are talking.

FaceBook is probably better...

By all means, don't let us stop you, go play on Facebook.

Especially since there isn't anything useful to you here, in any event.

Methinks you are only here to stir stuff up, as a way to get your jollies.

There are many of us who have learned things by coming to AZB. I'm sorry if you are above the material here, and as such wil be a big waste of your time. I think you would be much happier not having to lower yourself by visiting the poor excuse for a website any longer.

I think it's kind of amazing how this thread is going. Here we are discussing what would make this thread BETTER and there's a fight. I don't know much about TheThaiger although his attitude about aiming systems seems to be consistent with my beliefs. As for Neil, I'd regard him as being one of the forum's best contributors. He's thoughtful, polite and very knowledgeable. I'd hope that anyone responding to one of Neil's posts would do so with some respect. I'm not saying you have to agree with him (sometimes we don't see eye-to-eye) but at least regard him as a friend of the forum which should mean something. It sucks that even this thread has degraded to such a level and it's no wonder why the forum is constantly cycling through valuable resources.

Thank you very much, Jude! However, I do have to admit that lately I haven't been too polite to a number of posters on here. But, I do not apologize for that, either. I have no problem speaking my mind to some, but even then, I do hold back quite a bit.

i'm with you. i don't always play nice with others, here or anwhere else, but at least it's honest.

I have to NEED to learn something. Fortunately, us Brits can cue a ball straight without learning 3 million pages of witchcraft first.

oh, ok. i get it now. you're one of the 1000 plus posters on az who can do what you want at will on a pool table and you play with all the greats.
2 questions then, who are you and what have you won?
there are plenty of threads on here that offer info. on equipment, playing, players, all sorts of things. look around they are here. it's not all aiming systems. and what's wrong woth learning about deflection or a new way to aim. some newbies need the help.
and since screen shots are so easy to use and you have so many questions and a thirst for knowledge and answers, where are yours. i am sure there are people here myself included that would love to see and discuss.

I think the screen shots thing was the OP.

Hey, have you told him about the draw shot yet now that new-fangled glue-on leather tips have been invented--or does he still use the old screw-on variety?

My point, Slim, was that it doesn't matter what great players play with. They don't need layered tips. More to the point, they definitely don't need diagrams, statistics, charts, maps, studies, slo-mo replays, internet chatter or, even, an in-depth knowledge of calculus and the laws of motion.

A table, a cue, some balls, a piece of chalk. That's it.

You are correct! And that's what drives me nutz.

There used to be a lot of great stuff posted on here. Many of the topics you named were covered. But, too many trolls that probably have never run two or three racks in a row in their life decided it was better to argue and make fun of the instructors than to actually learn something. So, they stopped all the good articles. Now, you have what you see. And, it's not likely to change except to get even worse on here.

Well said by one of those that has contirbuted some really great stuff to this forum over the years. Like you, Neil, I used to start more than a few table talk threads in the main forum but tired of it when they generated less and less discussion and were hijacked or diverted off topic more and more.

Who ever said that it matters what the GREAT players play with, or how they learned? What you fail to see, is that there are millions of players. Out of those millions, all trying the same way, only a dozen or so became GREAT. And, you want to take that less than 1% success rate and not even look at the 99%+ failure rate and say that is a viable method for everyone? And anyone that tries another way is foolish?? Good luck with hoping you are one of that less than 1% of people.

I can tell you the english guy is not a pool player and a very low level at best and more likely is just a fan of the game. He seems to have no understanding or interest in the details of the game, but yet follows this board.

In my not so humble opinion, I would make use of the "Ignore" function and have. Why joust with this guy, Neil? He obviously ain't gonna get it.
Thanks for your contributions, by the way!

The only problem with that is the fact that the rest of AZB won't have him on ignore, and he will derail thread after thread.

I'm all for a little banter, but it's folks like him who make things difficult here, at times...

Neil, I think there is allot of good stuff on here and I always enjoy your input. You and several others like you have made it enjoyable for me to be here and I have learned allot. So, thanks, and don't be discouraged by some folks. There are allot of us that appreciate the positive input and knowledge from people like yourself.

Why are you upset at people who are "talking" about how to do something, don't you realize that this forum is designed for just that?

You don't seem to be happy here at all, so why waste all your energy on hating the people that what to take part in a discussion. Why not go somewhere else. Maybe somewhere where your arrogance is appreciated as much as your negativity.
