Take the chalk debate, for example. Right now I'm using the predator stuff, because a local store sells it. But from tooling around on here, I see quite a few people selling different chalk, so the 12yr old in me that wants the coolest stuff gets me to check out the threads and such. If I think I'll like it, I'll pm somebody, if not, I'll find something else to read.
I guess I just don't see the need to bash somebody for trying to make a buck, because I can always check something else out instead. I wanna play pool, I want to have a good time. I want to check out awesome sticks I can't afford and hear about the latest and greatest products, whether they're actually good or not, and see who's kicking ass and taking names.
Don't get me wrong, every now and again it's kind of funny to see two grown men (or women) have a verbal throwdown online, but as a new member? Kind of makes me not want to deal with them in the future, in case the crazy is a full time gig for them.

I kind of like this place just the way it is. The drama, the excitement, the humor, the information. A little of this, and a little of that. It's certainly got most other places beat, and unlike Facebook, we're more family here. I think I like that part the best.
I don't think we should worry too much about the guys with the double wide pages, selling their shit. If it were too much of a problem Mr. H would fix it.
Their are a lot of pool players here. Really good pool players. And really good pool players have big egos that are sometimes hard to deal with, so a lot of times our conversations become circular, go off topic, and tempers flair. The fail-safe here is when Mr Wilson fires a shot across someone's bow and order is restored.
I've been living at this hotel for quite awhile now. Others much, much longer. I've been on hiatus for a time, and I was in the slammer for six weeks. After all that I'm still here. Why, you ask? Because of the drama, the excitement, the humor, the information. A little of this, and a little of that. :smile:

Its not even 8 am on the west coast yet and there has already been over 1200 visitors today. Not a ghost town.

Exactly, Pool is what it is. When you go trying to make it into something its not, that's when you start having problems. Poolies will always have drama, excitement and humor. Someone woofs a little much and gets called out. Someone thinks that know it all just find out they know very little. Its a learning experience from beginning to end, just know who you like messing with and be happy.

There you go, Spot on. There are too many little people on here hiding behind their keyboards that can't resist a chance to ruin someone's day.
 
The guys that always complained about what type of threads/etc should be allowed in the main forum and same guys that would call for bans/etc on other members got there wishes. Was only a matter of time :thumbup:
