what strikes me as odd, how is it they have "keyed" the commercials to start when the player gets to the 8 ball? and another thing, how is it I am getting a cereal commercial in Spanish?

Well Brian, also noticed one glaring error. Where is the Diamond Billiard Products logo on the poster? Oversight perhaps? Sure hope not. Is the table shown on the poster even a Diamond? Pretty obvious they're playing on Diamonds. Just a question.

I would imagine that the table in the image is a readily available image that was picked up by whoever made the ad piece. Believe me, having an image like that done professionally is not inexpensive. I think the image they used still gets the message across.

As for the commercials, I think you're seeing ads run by the streaming host, ustream. They provide the hosting for free so they can sell ad space. The streamer can buy hosting without commercials, but it too gets expensive.

My dad always told me "there's no such thing as a free puppy!". If we want free streams, we have to understand that it must come with some kind of compromise. Nothing is free.

What struck me is why so many top players not playing? Even hatchet man was not there and that is rare occasion.

If you look up top, you get a warning that the ad will play in so many minutes and you can elect to play it now instead of waiting.

Lot of the pros that usually play there were at the China World 8-ball. Shane was supposed to play in China but had a problem with his visa and when he realized it, it was too late to get into the Turning Stone event. Hatchetman said on Facebook, it was a transportation issue.

To get rid of the commercials, you can download Ad Blocker Plus. This is pretty easy and after I did this, I wasn't bothered by them.

If you go to the Joss Tour web site and click on Sponsors, Diamond Billiards
is not listed as one of their sponsors. So I suggest it's not that odd.
I was thinking the same thing. :D

Wonder if it had anything to do with Turning Stone not using Cyclop ball sets. Mike has Aramith as a sponsor. Just wondering.

Diamond is not a sponsor of Turning Stone. They are a supplier. They supply the tables for a fee.

This.

I would assume, that it's possible that there could be some legal issues if the poster were represented with a black table that has blue cloth. Regardless, as was posted earlier, it's just a stock image that was used. Having a quality professional photograph taken and given permission to use the image, is not cheap.

Jerry,

Thanks for the correction. All these years and TS events, always thought Diamond was a sponsor. Found my entry for 2009. They're not listed on that either. All I can say is OOPS!!! :sorry: Remember now a discussion on the forum a few years ago about the TS added money and where it goes.
