I have recently been doing some reflecting on pool , cuemakers, cues, and all the great people I've met through this site and others. I have very few regrets about having become involved in this hobby but one big regret that I do have is getting into it with Thomas Wayne.
In the past both here and on another site I spoke ill of Thomas and said things that were hurtful/derogatory and that I regret having said. I'll will attribute this to mob mentality, poor judgement, and the infamous keyboard warrior syndrome.
After taking the time to discuss Thomas with others and weed my way through the typical internet BS I have come to the conclusion that I was wrong about him. He is a pioneer in his craft and willingly helps those who seek his advice after trying to master different techniques on their own. I have never met Thomas or owned one of his creations but hope that this apology on my part may serve as a new beginning .
I feel that at times many on AZ engage in this type of behavior not just against Thomas but against many of the cuemakers both new and old. I feel that this type of behavior only hurts our beloved hobby and sport and does little to bring others into the hobby. Rather than seeing the negative we should accentuate the positive and do more to bring new life into this sport/hobby.
To Thomas I would like to offer my most sincere apology for my words and behavior . If we meet someday I would love to buy you dinner and see if we can turn our adversarial conversation into a cordial friendship.
All the best,
Matt S.
