Thoughts on this Anniversary

Hello,
I recently found this gem buried deep on Craigslist. It's definitely my all time favorite table design.
Am I correct in assuming this is an Anniversary model? What other information can you tell me about it from just the few pics? I know condition of the table would be hard to determine just from the pics but what is a fair market value for a "good" or "average" condition Anniversary model?
Also, how does the Anniversary compare to a GC from around the same ara with regards to playability?
One more question. What would a probable age of this table be?

BTW the seller told me I could have it for $800. Fair price?

If you have any, what advice would you give someone looking to buy an older table? Especially a table with possible collector's value?

Thank you everyone for your time and expertise.

Rick

i was going to buy that table but the seller was real shaky. would never call me back or anything. said he had a lot of family problems going on. :(. I ended up buying a gc3 instead that was closer.

if your close enough to actually go look at it and its nice i would buy it in a heart beat.

I'm several hours away from him so not very close but would still make the trip if I could get some info up-front from the seller. I thought he was kind of strange too. He said he had a bunch of collectors asking about it. Kind of makes me wonder why they didn't snap it up if he's telling the truth. Unless it's bad condition or the pieces are not matching. Who knows what condition it's actually in.
I love the look though.

The weather is finally looking great here in MN. Maybe it's time for a road trip!

I'm sure you're just as happy with your GC3!

If you can deal with a GC III that is a Pro 8, last I heard they are still trying to sell one at Jimmy's Pro Billiards. I got mine from them and paid $600 for it.

Rick, Looks like a nice table, easily worth the money. I would get it,as long as the slate is in good condition. This model Anniversary was made between 1960-64,judging by the nameplate. If the table is in good condition with nothing messed up or broken could be worth at least $2500. Good luck

i second that motion. if its all there, and nothing is missing or broken, its worth $800 all day long. you can modify cushions, rails, and cloth as you see fit.

Rick these tables were originally made starting in 1925 to celebrate Brunswick's 100th anniversary, and they continued to make them until the early 1960's. This table was made in the early 1960's, according to the name tag used on the table.

An interesting fact is that Gold Crown 1 and 2 have a frame like the anniversary, in fact the slate can be switched between table and anniversary rail will mount directly on the Gold Crowns, but I do not know if the table skirts are inter-changeable.

There is little if any difference in play between the early Gold Crowns and the Anniversary table.

Oh and by the way $800 is a steal for that table, if you have the cash and a place to store it buy it and sell it later, you should be able to make a couple of thousand dollars later.

Maybe 1945, not 1925?

i'd be hesitant to buy anything where the guy only supplied two low res pics. ask for more higher res pics especially of the rails. ask him about the slate. make the sale contingent upon your approval of the slate condition. having said this; if you can get a GC-pro, that would be a nice table too, maybe in better condition too. the rails look 'ball bashed' on that annaversary table.

disclaimer: not a mechanic just a guy who's bought / sold / installed / recoverd my own tables.
