It sounds like the show was a great one, and you made the very best of it! Bill Schick and Jimmy Kissinger are two superb people, and I missed seeing them at the show. Next time! Come to KC for Bill Stroud`s cue show in the fall, I expect it to be a great one, and I would like to meet you and "talk cues".

I had fun. First time at a pool tournament/show. Was kinda funny seeing Mike Massey preaching. I was amazed at all the vintage and high end cues for sale. Watching Johnny Archer shoot was awesome as well, didn't even realize how good someone could be. My friend Morgan Steinman was playing in the pro tourney, and it was cool to watch her play in the big leagues

From my viewpoint, attendance seemed to be good. We had a lot of foot traffic but not a lot of buyers. We had as many, if not more, people looking to sell their cue(s) than buy a new one. However, the week before the show I had my best sales week ever...go Figure!I said this last year, if someone had a booth solely for buying cues, they would come away with many very nice cues at $.40-$.60 on the dollar.
There seemed to be a lot of people looking for Szams. I do not know of one dealer or cue maker who had a better show this year than last year...maybe High End Cues...they seemed to have a good show. Maybe one of the Kens could chime in.
I did not get to see much tourney action.
The show had alot of foot traffic.. The high end buyers made their way to the show.. Most of my sales were the higher end stuff.. The mid-range cues are still on the rebound.. I could see in the eyes of many customer's that they wanted to pull the trigger, but maybe someone at home might have pulled something off of them.. Cues are in a great position.. We have alot of cuemakers that are turning the corner and stepping up their game.. I see more quality cues surfacing from several guys..

I did not get to look around as much as I wanted to but there were definitely no shortage of super cues there. Bill Shick and Mike Bender came to the show with Roy Mallot and they both spent some time around the GTF table that was located at the Sterling booth.
GTF Cases were well received and I took several custom orders for them. I don't think that many collectors and high end buyers made it over to the spot that GTF was located but the ones that did whom I met were impressed with the quality.
So I got a healthy dose of satisfaction knowing that the cases could really stand up with it's peers.
For the JB Cases I only had two unsold cases for sale and one sold and the other did not. Roy showed off several of his that I delivered at the show.
I didn't take any orders at the show for JB Cases as I was too busy with the Sterling booth and I am already 30 orders behind.
I did meet Jim Murnak and saw a little of his work. Outstanding work and an interesting man. We talked shop and his advice to me will be showing up in future cases.
Jack Justis also stopped by and we rekindled our friendship. Jack has a surprise for the pool world that I will let him share when the time is right. Meanwhile he had many top shelf cases on display and looked to be doing good business.
The Whittens did not disappoint with some wonderful cases. I talked with Dan and Joe for a while and they are doing better than ever.
On cues I want to mention someone who has come up over the years and rarely gets mentioned here. Corey Barnhardt. He had some of the prettiest and sweetest hitting cues I have ever tried. Corey is doing small silver dots in such a neat way in the rings that he deserves mention. That coupled with ultrasharp points and knockout woods makes his cues very underrated in my opinion. I don't know if anyone here owns a recent Barnhardt but you owe it to yourselves to check this young man's cues out. I have watched him develop for many years and his first cues were worthy and his latest are superstars imo.
Other than that I didn't get much chance to browse the show. Thanks to everyone who did come by and thanks to those who placed orders for custom cases!!!

i think the funniest moment at the expo, i was standing at the corner stone booth and i saw Barry meet pete tasc. for the very first time and they shook hands and gave eah other a hug.. it was epic history..lol..
so like 3 minutes later i turn and there is Si... i said.. "Si.. did you see it.. Barry met Pete Tasc sr for the first time ever and they shook hands and hugged.. it was awesome"
Si's expression on his face.. was priceless.. and he says to me..
"you mean they never met before and they met for the first time right here.?!?!? " and then out of nowhere.. in his accent "F@CK... I MISSED IT.."

Joe...I was talking to Paul Rubino about a cue project and I think he can make me something with a swipe card down the side
