Threads I Hate The Most

M.

I'm pegged. I just get so fed up with people senselessly arguing and going nowhere that I purposefully try and derail the topic so that people will quit fighting. I am guilty of picture spamming. :( Nothing will be quite as awesome as the time we got an "I hate the world" thread in NPR to digress into a "Bunnies with stuff on their heads" thread. Huzzah.

But I do like to inject my little humor into a lot of threads.

Hell........no one here should be takin my advice anyway.
I need at least the 7 from the worst player here.

Needn't worry Bazooka, I haven't taken offense to anything anyone has said. I am obnoxiously condescending but that's only because I've seen this forum turn into a swamp of incoherent rhetoric about trivial issues vaguely related to actually making a ball and I really miss what it used to be and dream of what it could be.

For the most part, those that agree with me are the same people who come here to discuss pool. Those that have taken a moment to insult me are usually the very people I'm complaining about. I hope they keep 'em coming. This is like Googan roll-call.

One thing to keep in mind is that there is sometimes a place for repeating topics if it's not done excessively rather than just searching for old threads . You can get new peoples' opinions who either weren't here or didn't see it before. The alternative of bumping an old thread is not always a better solution because then someone might have to read through several pages to see what's going on.

My pet peeve: people whose answer to everything is "stop over-analyzing and just play." OK, in that case, close up the forum and just post tournament updates.

Not in the least... yet again, you've surmised that those of us that have insulted you (including me) are the ones you complain about? I'm still a bit puzzled, as I come here to talk pool and read about like conversation, tournament updates, action, cues, etc.

Googan roll call? First of all, the term "googan" is about the gayest (yes, I said it) term I have ever heard.... I did read the descriptions and that did not really describe me at all, although I do know the like... they are called "enthusiasts". Does that term describe you? Why should you feel the need to talk down upon those that are passionate about the "sport" (game)?

Again - you are a condescending uppity ass that thinks you are better than everyone around you... I don't agree with you.

Well Gerry

Sometimes we get the puns, and other times our brains just don't perc for squat...

Couldn't agree more

I hadn't really vocalized it, even to myself, but Jude hits it on the head. If I don't have the whole day to waste browsing around the internet I usually just search for all posts by my favorite posters - I am pretty much guaranteed to find a good thread by checking to see what Jude or Steve Lipsky have posted to rather than having to guess which thread has meaningful content in it.

1. Misleading/Incomplete Titles

Please, don't let us wait until we click on the thread to find out you have no worthy opinion. Let everyone know from the main-page from now on so we don't waste our time!

2. NPR

It's amazing how people can relate ANYTHING to pool. Seriously, we are days away from seeing a thread about septic tanks and 9ball. Amazingly, I searched for "septic tank" and got 6 hits. Before you submit, ask yourself, is this what I would discuss with the poolroom's best player?

3. Revisited Topics

Ugh. There are now 158 THREADS with "OB-1" in the title. Unless your thread is about OB-1 versus Godzilla (which I think has yet to be discussed), perhaps you might want to consider reviewing previous posts before starting an entirely new thread about your new love.

4. Player Obsessions

I never thought AZB would become a fan site. From my time on rsb to the Chalk Board and now azb, I always believed we were all pool players. Boy was I wrong. I thought forums would be great places to gain information. People like Wei have devoted an incredible amount of their time to provide us with amazing tools to use and youtube only enhances that experience yet every day there will undoubtedly be a new thread about one of ten players and how someone saw them on tv. I really don't care if Johnny Archer wears Fruit of the Looms. I really really really don't care.

5. Politics

Usually 95% of the people involved in these threads have no financial interest in them whatsoever yet they're always willing to contribute their two cents.

I really do enjoy questions about rules and unusual shot scenarios and amazingly, many of the best contributors of late are relatively new members. I hope members like Klockdoc, uwate, azbluemach1 and a plethora of others continue to contribute to play-related threads. I may not always agree with what you have to say but I'm very glad we're actually talking about pool.

Sigh. I'm done venting.

A little bottom left should allow you to come around 3 rails.

Yes, I agreed with you. I'm obnoxiously condescending. What are you arguing?

You stated that those that diagree with you are not here to discuss pool and are "googans", as you so eloquently put it....

I disagree and am voicing my opinion on the matter. I also find it rediculously ironic that you complain about the lack of pool-related topics and so verbosely state it in your own thread in the "pool related" forum. Crazy, no?

btw - I couldn't find the thread, but I do recall you "quitting" azb for good as well.. THAT was a noteworthy pool-related thread as well...

straight draw shot coming back off side rail leaving cue ball in middle of table should work here

It's RIDICULOUS. Sigh.

Look, I'm not going anywhere today. If you don't like me, feel free to hit the ignore button but I'm not going to get into some flaming war with you which you seem to be itching for. I'm here to discuss pool, that's all I want. Every day I look at the list of threads and it gets sillier and sillier every day. If you can't recognize that, you're not paying attention or you don't care.

If a thread doesn't interest you, or sounds like it wouldn't interest you then simply DO NOT click on that thread. There are dozens of threads each day about shaft deflection, squirt, tip material, break speed, etc.. that do not interest me in the least therefore I simply don't read them. I do not click on those threads I care nothing about and belittle the poster and voice how little I care about their topics. The fact that someone starts a thread that you don't like doesn't mean that it is necessarily bad for the forum or that others won't enjoy its content. You seem to deem it necessary to cry "NPR, NPR" everytime someone puts up a thread that you don't like even though it generates a lot of entertainment to most of the other regular posters.

NO,No,No
